Jm where in socal are you?
-
it has been noted other places it this forum of a musty or mildew smell coming from the a/c system. I have driven quite a few Fords which get the same odor. Try spraying some deodorizer near the cabin air filter. I think its under the dash by the passengers feet.

So horrible that I have to catch the next episode. I think the original was better. Getting David Hasselhoff to be the kids long lost dad is beyond cheezy. Its kind of like one of those stupid spoof movies that you watch just to see how bad they are..

I feel so lucky to have the whine also. Ours is under accelerating. Maybe even a "harmonic" noise. An interior piece loose or something? It doesn't seem to be the wife either, nor is ours Red.

It was absolutely horrible!! And yes I watched the whole thing. The Edge chase was great (in a bad sort of way). I stopped the DVR while fast forwarding through commercials when I saw the actor guy doing Ford commercials on the same show. I hope nobody would even think any of that was even remotely possible.

Don't you look at the sticker they put up in your window? Most people change their oil before that warning comes on.

My wife had the same thing. Didn't even bother with the dealership just went to our local tire place and they balanced and replaced the weight. Good as new!!

2007 Ford Edge: Technical Service Bulletins (TSB)
818EDGE replied to Edge Guide's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
I haven't noticed the problem recently. It could very well be that I am just used to driving with the wheel slightly turned to correct it. I probably would have never thought of it again if I didn't see this thread pop up. Thanks Alot!!! J/K -
Vinegar. Distilled white vinegar on a damp rag.

Stopping seems like the first problem you would encounter. You could probably get away with it although it is not adviseable. Don't forget that when you do go camping, you load up with food drinks, passengers, folding chairs, and a ton of other stuff you don't even realize you are bringing. All of that adds to the total combined weight of the vehicle. I've seen lots of over loaded vehicles towing WAY too big trailers all loaded down with as much as they can pack in or on them. You being the one who is actually concerned about doing it right would be the one to have a misshap and be liable god forbid someone got hurt for overloading your vehicle. Ignorance is not an excuse... Find a slightly smaller trailer.

As far as spots with hard water goes, adding some distilled white vinegar to your bucket of soapy water helps remove and reduces them from forming while drying. We have been doing it for years on boats and Sea-Doo's after being at the river. Doesn't hurt paint on the cars either.

It was a bit snug gettin the 2 tab in on the right side but nothing horrible. Haven't seen any increase in MPG though.
-
PAC-10 isn't doing bad either. 3-2 in Bowl games. USC absolutely crushed Illinois. Too bad Hawaii couldn't atleast make it somewhat competitive against Georgia. The little schools need that for their programs.

Yeah, I guess it doesn't help having the entire car packed with luggage, presents and all of our babies stuff. LOTS of extra weight.

It looks like Abrannan19's dually did a big hot smokey burn out on the driveway in the pic of the Lexus IS. Very Nice!

Interesting.. I always check tire PSI before trips and click off the AC button but leave the Auto on. Thanks for the info though. I thought something was going bad with the engine or trans. Hopefully things will change back come spring.

Over our last road trip for Xmas, we were lucky to squeeze out 19.4 MPG for about 900miles. We used to get 24-26 over the same route a few different times over the last year. Has anyone else noticed this?

Usually about 1.5-2 gal for us. That is before the REALLY slow clicking to make it an even amount

Hey carbonedge+ 5th is 1:1 ratio so maybe they consider that overdrive. It is a large jump in ratio to 6th too. That is probably why the MPG takes a dump when you are in wind or on hills and stays in 5th. From the Autochannel.com FORD EDGE TRANSMISSION Standard 6-Speed Automatic Gear Ratios 1st 4.484 2nd 2.872 3rd 1.842 4th 1.414 5th 1.000 6th 0.742 REV -2.882 Final Drive FWD: 2.77; AWD: 3.16

I wonder what your mpg was at 111mph? Probably quite poor! I do know that leased vehicles can have the computer reprogrammed the same way it can be done for added performance. Leasing companies probably get a better liability insurance for under 100 mph or something??..
-
We had the same problem. Strong headwind KILLED the mileage. It never stayed in 6th gear.
-
""I have no complaints with my 2007 FWD. True, most of my driving has been on the highway with over 8,000 miles but my average mileage is 21.7 MPG (this is by my calculations, not the trip computer). Worst tank to date was 16.3 driving North on I-35 against a 20 MPH head wind. The best MPG was 26.1 with a strong tail wind." We had the same problem. Strong headwind KILLED the mileage. It never stayed in 6th gear.

I think that "city" driving is different for many of us. Here in LA, city driving is a stoplight every 1/4 - 1/2 mile(which you usually get stuck at). Sometimes having to wait 3 or 4 lights to make a left. A 5 mile trip could take 1/2 an hour. That isn't even the freeway crawl. Many of the big cities are the same way, but "city" for others may be much more wide open leading to the higher mpg. Just a thought.........
