Hello, so here comes my question: i have a 2008 Lincoln MKX with THX and Navigation. Because of driving in europe, normally the GPS will not work. I have a european map already. After checking the "Bezel Diagnostics", i see that no satellite show up long enough to get 3DFix. So, the first step was getting in the "Develop Menu" (found in the Internet) - there was a GPS Area Restriction! Now i have 9 satellites. But navigation is not working yet, just showing my position, not closer than 500 meters. There are so many taps in the menu, do you know what i have to switch? What they all mean? (I found a RDS-TMC button - the european traffic channel). Can i get this work in europe as far as it gets? Every help is strongly welcome :stats: Ralf

Hello, does somebody know if the factory navigation system has a region code? I have a 2008 MKX with THX system. I know HU don´t play DVD movies, the DVD player is only for the navigation disc. I just try around with different navigation dvd´s (try to find a european map dvd that works, before i start to modify my 7p map dvd... Everytime i put a map dvd in the HU, it say " incompatible disc" - so i think it has a regioncode (1 for USA), the HU don´t look furter on the files, it break up immediately, and if i burn a dvd, maybe it burn a region code 2 on my pc here in Europe.... Is there a hidden menu, can i change the code - if there is one? I always thought that only dvd video has a code - maybe dvd-rom too?? Unfortunately you can change anything with the 3 and 6 buttons... Can anybody help? Thanks!!! Greetings from Munich....!

Yep..... that´s i wanna do....BECAUSE: the navigation system is not working in EUROPE - till now i couldn´t found a map thats working...- i think it has SDAL format maps. Pioneer, Lincoln, Ford Europe will not help. BTW, i´ve seen that the Ford Explorer is selling in Russia - with the same navigation unit. I wrote to them, but no answer... ;-( Pioneer and Kenwood are the only one were all the steering wheel buttons will work. I need my phone answer / end call button! that´s why i need a wire diagram of the THX system.... I rather would keep my original unit - i like the design. It fits with the whole interior. Any help appreciated! Ralf

Hello, after hours of spending in this forum, i didn´t found the right answers.... (Sorry) I have to swap the navigation head unit in my 08´Lincoln MKX. I want everything like it is, but with an aftermarket navigation system. My favorit will be the new Pioneer AVIC-X920BT. That´s the only one you can keep the phone-steering wheel button - i found out so far. -> My question: i have the THX soundsytem and i wanna keep it. Do you have a wire diagram of the THX? I know i can take PAC or Scosche / Metra. But do i need a aftermarket nav with 4/5 or 6 pre-out? I think: left front - center - right front / left rear - right rear and sub. That will be a total of 6?? Has anybody had done this swap before? I think i need the FORDAH interface, a steering wheel interface and a frame. The write about the FORDAH, the DSP fade is lost, and the unit will set to "ALL". Driver / Front fade is gone. I hope i can programm this at the new head unit? -> About the steering wheel interface: wich one will be the best? I have read that you can´t change the telefone volume with the steering wheel buttons (PAC) if it connected with bluetooth. Do i need the bluetooth when i connect my iPhone 3Gs with the USB cable? Also i want to keep the USB port in the middle console. Hope that Pioneer has a USB port on the back. Can i plug into telefon mute that the backup sensors mute the radio? Thanks!!! If anybody knows something.......
