I like our Edge so much I let my wife drive my new F-150 SCREW. She hates driving the truck, so it's a win-win for me....
-
It's on our SEL+...don't know about the other trim levels, though.
-
It was Kenny's that gave me the ridiculous price. I've since been to Car Trends, who seem like they know what they're doing (and won't rip you off in the process).

Rear Cargo management system ?
MHOsborn replied to Smiley's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
No hook points in our 2007 SEL+ (that I recall, anyway). You can, though, add a Cargo Logic organizer available through Ford Accessories. The Cargo Management system is really nothing more than a molded insert that goes around the spare tire, which is located below the cargo area floor. You can put some small items in the Cargo Management partitions, but nothing of any size. -
My new F-150 was assembled in Kansas City!

A big problem we're having with ours is the time wasted discussing our Edge (2 months + now) with admirers. Maybe we should put a sign in the window saying something like, "Don't Ask Us About Our Edge....Ask Your Ford Dealer"?
-
Congratulations on your new Edge, and welcome to our little (but growing daily) community here. I too, am Ford-loyal.
-
Nah...I doubt I'll catch a break on that. I'm guessing we'll get something in the mail from them before the 6 months is up, though.

Just curious if others here have been contacted by Sirius yet (for those that have Sirius satellite radio, of course)? We've had our Edge since the end of May, and haven't been contacted by them yet. The Sirius radio was functional when we took delivery of our car....maybe that's got something to do with it?
-
I think I would have refused delivery if I hated the color as you do...even if it was the second refusal. Actually, the Light Sage was our third choice of colors....first was Black, which we got....second was Redfire.

Congratulations on your new Edge! I'm sure you'll enjoy it, just as most of us in here have enjoyed ours. We'll look forward to your posts, which I'm sure you'll accomplish just as soon as you step away from the car.

Navagation System Operating Manual
MHOsborn replied to PeteL22151's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Our Edge came with both the Quick Start and full printed navigation system manual. Here's a link to the manual in PDF format: http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/cont...2/07pnssn1e.pdf No cleaning cloth came with our system...a microfiber cloth works just fine to clean the fingerprints off the screen. Hope this helps... -
Great website! Thanks for the link, as I hadn't run across that one before.

I hand wash our black Edge. Black's a color that really shows swirl marks if you run the car thru a car wash, so I elect to hand wash it. In the winter, I use the pressure spray wand.... I use Meguire's car wash soap and their Instant Detailer in between wax jobs. I usually wax our cars 2-3 times a year, and find that using a clay bar prior to the wax really works well to get the smooth finish back. When washing, I use the 2-bucket method (soapy water in one bucket...clean water in the other...rinse the wash mitt out in the clean water before dipping it again the soapy water). There's a great forum if anyone's interested in car care tips at www.f150online.com.

I got a great deal on my F-150 as well. I wouldn't have gone with 4WD, but the dealer gave me the D-Plan price, so I couldn't resist.

Yesterday we bought our second new Ford in the last 2 months. This time, though not an Edge, we got a 2007 Ford F-150 Lariat Supercrew 4x4. I seriously considered another Edge...but the rebates on the truck swayed me against "his and hers Edges". This truck replaces my 2004 F-150 XLT regular cab, which I've sold to our son-in-law, as his 1997 has officially given up the ghost. My 2004 was built in Norfolk...the new one in Kansas City. Hmmm....'spose I'll get a congratulatory call from Bill F. or Alan M.?

Just received an email from that company yesterday. Now they're saying they'll give me their "dealer price" of $1500. I'll find out if this price includes Sirius, Bluetooth, and steering wheel controls (but I doubt it). They're saying the Sirius adapter for the Pioneer AVIC D3 is on national back order. It's listed as out of stock at crutchfield. You seeing the same thing?
-
I may take you up on that....I won't know for sure until I buy our new car, though. Thanks!

I'm a little leery of Circuit City's installers here, as I've had two radios put in by their workers, and experienced problems with both installations. And...I wonder if they would have a clue regarding the steering wheel controls.
-
I thought it was way too pricey as well. I even questioned them about the Z2, as the price would be good for that unit. LOL...know of any installers in Tulsa I could use?
-
Speaking of radio changes, I got a quote yesterday from a local auto accessory shop that's done a lot of work for my Ford dealer. I was quoted an installed price of $1995 for a Pioneer AVIC D3, $250 for Sirius, and $75 for an iPod adapter. I wrote them back and questioned their pricing, as I've seen the Pioneer AVIC D3 at crutchfield.com for $899 (less at some other places). Either they're asking way too much for this change, or it takes at least 2 full days to install the unit.

Like you, I don't get to drive our Edge too much...it's my wife's daily ride. My daily ride, though, is a 2004 F-150 regular cab....soon to be replaced with a different Ford vehicle (not sure what yet, though).
