My dealer says mine is the first out of a few hunded they have sold. I wouldnt be too worry about it. Just Monday work quality problems. Its part of the powertrain i would imagine with a 5/50000 warranty.

There are lots of lemon law sites with different states laws. Id first complain to the service manager. Then he might tell you what to do. Id say call the Ford helpline. I dont know what the number is. Tell them what the problem is and escalate. Also demand what you want and see if it comes true. 45 days, maybee lemon law. Good luck.

Thats good that your car was taken care of. My process lasted about 3 weeks including the holiday week when nothing gets done. Pretty good turn around time. Got me a premium with all the goodies. Even got the hitch I wanted.

Just got my replacement EDGE today. What a nice car. I had an 07 SEL Plus and it was replaced with a Premium AWD. I have to say, the tranny shifts better, the suspension is much tighter and when you point it, it goes. It seems like they ironed some bugs out of the early production models. I hope it stays this way. I got a Vapor Silver AWD Premium. The power tailgate bar looks dumb how it just sits there inside. SYNC with Nav is quite nice. Ive looked for an answer to sports suspension. Anybody?

Does anybody have pics on where the ballasts are mounted at? Does anybody know of a good place to get a relay with the remote turn on being a plug instead of the cheap connector that you need to put into the socket deal.

Its probably on the AWD versions. Mine was leaking on my exhaust. I have 2 friends with Edges. They have no problems with AWD. I guess its just something that the transfer cause guys did by accident with a case of the MONDAYS.

The 2008 P/N is close to the same. Instead of 7T4T-18K931-BA for the 2007, its 8T4T-18K931 for the audiophile versions of NAV. I think there is a website that has it for $1260 or so on www.radiosandmore.com with free shipping. There might be other places but i couldnt find one this week in the good ol ebay.

That looks lie the first time that they fixed my EDGE. It didnt work for my car but I hope it does for yours. They replaced the PTU this time. I drove it and it still smells a little but not as bad. I hope its the residual oil just burning off. Well have to see. Good luck my friend.

My aftermarket Nav is hooked up to the emergency brake wire so it knows if your moving or not. Not good for people who dont use their emergency brake.

They tried to replace the seal in mine but couldnt get it done. They had to order a new transfer case. Only been in the shop for a month or two. WOOHOOO. Hope you have better luck than me. I do miss my car but it happends.

That would be nice if they paid interest. I was told by a manager that they will just use the MSRP of my vehicle and then just add the difference of whatever ill get. Well see. I also have some aftermarket stuff on it that Ill need to take out. Hopefully theyll let me do that or just give me what I paid for it.

Well, after all the troubles Ive had with my Edge and 40+ days in the shop in the last 8 months, Ford said theyll buy my car back. Has anybody been through this process and how does it work. Is it just a replacement or pretty much just like buying a new car with credit for the old car? Im curious.

It is a double DIN receiver. Its a nice receiver but I have problems when its over 140 degrees in my car. What doesnt though.

If you bring your car into the dealership, it might be a seal or gasket that is leaking on the so called transfer case onto the exhuast. They have een working on mine for a while. A gasget / seal wont fix it. A new transfer case needs to be ordered. Its a sweet thick smell. Its the transfer case leaking some good fluids. Havem check it out. Didnt know that many people have this problem. Ford is aware of it and they stated to replaced the transfer case after my car has been in the shop for almost a good month. GREAT TIMES.

Well, I had that same smell also. So, they talked to Ford and now they are telling them to replace the whole transfer case since just the seal cant be replaced or something. The car is going to be in the shop from 20-35 days in the last 2 months. Not happy. The transfer case is also on backorder for who knows how long. Ill keep everyone updated.

My car has been in the shop for about 2 weeks due to a seal with the transfer case. It was leaking causing a crazy smell. My dealer told me to talk to Ford. I requesed a buyback with the intermitent problems I have with it. I hope to get an 08 but well see. Doesnt seem to be many problems with the car other than the early production ones which got. My slip stated my car was made in August of 06. They did finally get the seal in though and have spent the last 2 days taking apart the transfer case and putting the seal in. Wont be done till at least Monday they say. Good times.

Kahkiman. My edge is doing the same thing. There was a leaking seal. They replaced it once and no good. Now they have a seal that is on order that is a different revision. Its on backorder for a while. So, Im w/o my car for a while. Driving a v6 charger. Would be nicer if it was a HEMI. How did your car turn out.

Sweet setup man. I guess Ill forget about the AM radio. I got the satellite. I guess my football teams suck this year so there is no need to listen to local sports radio. I like the camera.

Thanks for assuming 07 MKX. I did read the links and have spent time trying to understand them. I have read these 2 sources on the state website a few times allready but I do appreciate you looking for them earlier. So, yes I did and thanks for the good ol assumption. Getting a lawyer is always a good idea in my opinion since I am not a lawyer and know the law. I just a simple network tech that doesnt knowthe law. Wierd. I am also trying to get clarification on this comment: 2) the vehicle is out of service by reason of repair for a cumulative total of 30 or more calendar days during such term or period, whichever is the earlier date; or (3) there have been 10 or more attempts to repair any nonconformities which substantially impair the use and value of the motor vehicle to the consumer and such attempts to repair have been attempts by the manufacturer or its agents or authorized dealers. There is this little word in there that says or. Im not sure what the means. I think it means one or another. That is what a lawyer is for. In the whole page, im not for sure if its in the 1st year of ownership or the warranty. And which warranty period, 3/36 or 5/whatever for the powertrain since its a powertrain issue. I do appreciate everyone elses help though.
