Back in 2022 my check engine light came on. Dealer diagnosed and the codes were p0137 and p0054. According to Ford “IDS states these as do not diagnose codes”. The dealer cleared the codes and told me to wait for a potential recall. CEL came on later that day. I called the dealer and I was told to ignore it. After a bunch of back and forth the service manager and general manager advised me to speak to corporate. Corporate put me in touch with a different dealer who brought in a specialist. They checked everything, and spent hours replacing everything one at a time and testing (sensors, wiring harnesses, etc.) and unfortunately could not fix the problem.
The check engine light will turn on and off randomly and has down so now for almost three years. A third dealer looked at it and suggested it may be the K&N air filter (the K&N was installed at the end of Feb 22 and the CEL first came in in early Jun 22).
I have three dealers who can’t fix it, and a Ford specialist who is stumped. The vehicle is in great shape with low mileage, but I am hoping to get this fixed once and for all. A service manager suggested it may be the computer itself but I was hoping to get some feedback from the community as I have no idea what to do next.
