Well I received this recall notice for my 2016 Ford Edge Titanium with the 3.5L standard (non-turbocharged) engine. So, when I went in to the local Ford dealership on 12/6/24 for an oil change I asked them to address this Recall Notice 24E10 that I received. They did it and I left but then over the next few days I noticed my average fuel economy started to drop. I have owned this Edge for 5 years and it has about 87,000 miles on it now and it has never dropped below 22.5 Avg MPG on the dash readout. In fact I always wondered if it was stuck at 22.5 so I would reset it and it would slowly settle back down to 22.5 but might do a little better on long trips but never dropped below 22.5. Now after the recall "FIX" it slowly over a few days dropped down to about 21.2 MPG which I'm not please with Ford about this. This reduction may not seem like much but I would think that a recall to reduce tailpipe emissions would not reduce fuel economy but instead possibly improve combustion and fuel economy! I called both local dealers and they really couldn't help me as they said this was a Ford Mandated Recall. When I called the Recall customer service phone number I got an Asian gal that I couldn't understand very well and all she offered me was to set up an appointment at a local Ford dealer at my expense and have them run a diagnostic test to see what might be the problem. My Edge was running fine when I took it in and after the recall "FIX" it seems to have more engine noise and worse fuel economy. I would think twice about having this recall addressed if you Edge is running fine and you are not in a state that still has emissions testing rqmts for license registration. I have owned Ford's all my life and currently have 4 but that may change in the future when replacing vehicles.
