  1. Thought I'd share a warranty experience that might help others on the forum. I recently had a service issue where I was out of warranty coverage based on years, but under on mileage. I informed the Service Advisor that I planned on engaging Ford Customer Service on some possible "goodwill" since I've had success with other OEMs on this. Out of this discussion, the Service Advisor and Service Manager took this up on my behalf, noting that Ford offers "After Warranty Assistance" for up to 7 years from the vehicle delivery date. Basically, if you fall into a situation like this, Ford can review the issue, along with taking into account your vehicle purchase history, service history, etc. and come up with a customer "score". Based on your score, they may offer assistance (i.e. reduce the repair cost). For my particular situation, Ford covered 40% of the repair. I'm not sure this type of assistance is always available, but if you find yourself in a similar situation, you might initiate a nice, polite, respectful discussion with your Service Advisor to see if your situation might qualify. It never hurts to ask! Good Luck!
  2. @enigma-2 @Wubster100 @Haz New Motorcraft battery installed 1 yr ago. So, low CCAs possible, but Ford ran diagnostics and didn't note it as an issue. As I noted in an earlier post, I was out of warranty on years, but under on mileage. I informed the Service Advisor that I planned on engaging Ford Customer Assistance regarding some potential "goodwill", and before I knew it, they took this up on my behalf. They told me that "After Warranty Assistance" is available up to 7 years from the vehicle delivery date. Ford runs through a calculation looking at your vehicle purchase history, service history, etc. and that produces an assistance number. For this repair, Ford offered to pay 40% of the total. I took that as a win!
  3. @Haz @Wubster100 Thought I'd provide a status on my post. I did the minimal amount of troubleshooting I felt comfortable with (primarily ensuring accessible connectors were attached), but did not come across any loose connectors. Finally got in to the dealer and they've diagnosed an internal failure of the Restraint Control Module. I see the SRS warranty coverage is 5yrs/60k miles. I'm out of coverage on years, but actually still under on mileage. I may have to try and engage Ford for some "goodwill". Thanks again for the help along the way!
  4. @Haz Thank you for the additional information and the emphasis on working safely. It will take me a few days to digest and review what you provided and decide how far I want to pursue this on my own. Again, many thanks for the info!
  5. @Haz Thank you for the workshop manual information. I edited the posting of codes to note that they all came from the Restraint Control Module as read from a MaxiDiag MD808 Pro. As for troubleshooting, the most I was planning on doing was verifying anything obvious with connectors and wiring, if they are easily accessible. I've taken an initial look at the connections/wiring under the front seats, but nothing seemed out of place. Would you happen to be able to provide any wiring diagrams and/or location information for any of the obvious sensors and/or connections? As you noted, caution is warranted regarding the SRS, so I don't plan to dig too deep, but don't was to miss something obvious (like a loose connector). Thanks!
  6. Here is the full list of codes. All came from the Restraint Control Module as reported by a MaxiDiag MD808 Pro. 7. Front airbag light on my 2018 SE came on unexpectedly a couple of weeks ago. Checked codes and came back with C0061:68-81 Lateral Acceleration Sensor and U3000:49-28 Control Module. As part of troubleshooting, I tried erasing the codes to see if they persisted, and they did. Didn't have time to troubleshoot, so I waited a week and tried again. Now the car is returning the same two codes along with (10) new ones. Not sure where to start troubleshooting, so before I post the laundry list of codes, I'm curious if anyone might offer some assistance? If so, I will post the full list of codes. I'd like to do a bit of troubleshooting myself, but I do have a feeling this problem may end up at the dealership. Thanks!
