I’mhaving trouble with the liftgate on our Edge, been going on since 11/3.
When pressing the button on the lift gate, the driver side will begin to lift, barely crack the seal, and then reclose itself. The passenger side doesn’t even look like it is even moving. The button on the dashboard doesn’t seem to work either. It has opened maybe a couple of times since then, but it is VERY intermittent/random. It did work once/twice using the kick sensor, then still did what I mentioned previously.
I’ve tried all the tips/tricks mentioned here and elsewhere: checking/pulling fuses (all good fuses), disconnecting the battery cables for a few minutes, press and hold the tailgate buttons to try and reset it. I even tried resetting the opening height.
Does anyone have any idea what it could possibly be? I’m not afraid of trying to fix it myself, if it’s possible. I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea on what else it could be or something else to try.
