  1. Just to add to this, same thing happened to my 11 Ford edge limited. I hadn't noticed the metal washer fell out and once I put it back in, all good. A useful hack I found on YouTube for not having to drain the new oil: Attach your shop vac hose to where you pour the oil in and put tape around it if you need to seal it better. Turn on the vacuum and now you can remove the drain plug without the oil draining! The vacuum isn't strong enough to actually suck up the oil but it keeps it from leaking when you remove the drain plug and add the gasket/washer to it!
  2. I have this exact problem with my 2011 edge limited! Thank you so much for posting this. I noticed my headlights would randomly pulse when the car is sitting in the driveway. I have yet to replace anything! So you're saying just get an OEM alternator and it'll be good? Do I also need to purchase a voltage regulator? Thanks again!
