Air Conditioning coming on automatically

My problem sounds a little different, in my 2011 ford edge sport. I can have all climate controls off and the AC will come on by itself- and none of the controls will let me shut it off. Or- I can be running the AC and it will shut down, make a blinking sound as if I'm pushing the temp button repeatedly, eventually I can get it to run again but mins later same thing again. very frustrating. Any one have an idea on this?
