  1. But with the new tires on smaller rims, I need to make sure the tire diameter doesn't change, right? Because that's what messes with the speedometer.
  2. We bought a 2018 Ford Edge (Titanium) last year. It came with 21-inch rims. They were already scuffed up a bit. Tire size is 265/40 R21 105W. I hit a pothole and the rim that took the impact cracked. I'd like to switch to smaller rims. I want to go as small as 18-inch rims. It's my understanding that Ford Edge can have rims as small as 17-inch. But, one tire shop told me that he wouldn't go any smaller than 19-inch rims on that vehicle. I know that when the tire size changes, it can mess with the speedometer/odometer. I've tried researching this online and I just can't get a clear answer. Basically, I need to tell the tire shop what I need without sounding like a total fool. How do I reduce the rim size without changing the tire size? Is there any risk or concern putting 18-inch or 19-inch rims on a 2018 Ford Edge Titanium? Any other concerns on changing rim size to 18s or 19s?
