My 2012 Ford edge 2.0 L eco-boost engine had a major oil leak and after replacing the vacuum pump on the driver side now when I press the gas on the highway or go above 60 mph, I am getting a check engine light with a P0299 code. My mechanic says that it’s due to the turbo, and I would need to replace the entire turbo to fix this. I need your suggestions on anything else. I can try to get rid of this issue before going for the expensive turbo replacement. What do I do? Thank you in advance for your help.
