What did you think of the Freestyle? If you think it was a little sluggish, the 2008 Taurus X (new name for Freestyle) will be out soon with a bigger engine. Also, in my opinion, it looks a hell of a lot better now too.

foglight, I cannot verify orders. I just work in a Cleveland Ford plant, and have access to Ford's internal VIN# tracking system. Perhaps your dealer just gave you the wrong date accidentally. Maybe they gave you the wrong VIN#. However, it is my understanding that once a vehicle is serialized (given a VIN#), it cannot be modified. Any modification must be done fairly quickly to beat the Serialization Date. As far as your X prefix on your order number, I do not know. When ordering a vehicle, the computer shouldn't need to know if it is A, X, or Z Plan. If I were you, I'd express your concern with your dealer, and they can give you some specifics on your order number and clarify any other concerns you might have.

SpykeYs, I'm starting to think there might be some sort of miscommunication going on somewhere. Your Ranger is built at the Twin Cities Assembly Plant in Minnesota, not Oakville, Ontario. Oakville, now only builds the Edge and MKX. Talk to that fleet director again and make sure he calls the correct assembly plant.

I only have access to the system that tracks dates with a given VIN#. Any other info you might need has to come from your dealer, Ford customer service, or your Zone Manager (if your dealer would even give you his number). Sorry, VIN# tracking is all I can do.
