  1. Programming issue. Sounds like it toasted your trans.
  2. Mine rolls back on a slight incline......No other car I have owned would roll back on such a slight incline. There are several TSB's for this issue which involve re-flashing the computer controlled trans.....I had both re-flashes done, and it did absolutely nothing. Dealer told me it fixes some and not others. I have learned to live with it.
  3. You sure it's not the brakes. These brakes are iffy at best, and thats when not towing anything.
  4. Sweet color ! Welcome to the Fam !
  5. I couldn't agree more lex. I wanted to check an '09 on the lot and was told that they also ding at full open but would not test when I was there.
  6. The service update report is that the liftgate should ding three times upon full open. I explained to the service manager that it did not do this for 1 year and he said that this SOP. I guess it should have done it all along but it did not.
  7. I hope mine does not start leaking again. It is getting into the upper 40's at night. Time will tell.
  8. Go back to the dealer and get the key for it. If they do not give you the key or do not have it......demand they remove that ghetto installed port.
  9. People keep mentioning here about having the DRL's turned off at the dealer if you want to install HID lighting. I have an '08 Limited and it does not have DRL's......I didn't even know that the Edge came with DRL's. What models/years have DRL's. My HID kit is on the way......55W slim with 5,000K and I did order the relay to wire the power source directly from the battery.
  10. Michelin Latitude Tours are an excellent all around tire.......that is unusual for OEM tires. They are awesome in the snow and very quiet on the highway. I have 23,000 miles on them now and it looks I can easily get another 20,000 out of them.
  11. Thanks again Lex.....good point about not ordering the relay and saving $35 beans if I will have no issues w/o it. I am ready to purchase......maybe you should get a cut of this sale..........
  12. There is no advantage to the slim over regular except the size. The regular size have been on the market 2 years 9 month longer than the slim, that is about the only other difference we can even think of. With the Edge though, we do recommend using a wiring harness as the power for the headlamp circuit is pulsed. For output color, the 6000k are like a cool white, with some time they will gain a bit more blue color to have that slight blue tint. For visibility the 4300k are best, but many people don't exactly care for the slight yellow hue they do have. We suggest the following for tried and true operation, longevity, and fitment for the Edge: Lex, I just received this e-mail from Retro Solutions after posting my reply. WHat does it mean when a circuit is "pulsed" I guess I do not need the harness since you have no issues. Thanks again.
  13. Thanks Lex. Yeah that was me giving a salesman a hard time. No real merit to what I was saying. Just like to I think I will go with the H11 slim kit in the 5000k from Retro Solutions. Thanks for all of your help Lex, it really helped me make up my damn mind. Besides, you are probably the only one's information on here that I believe to be true and accurate.
  14. Hey Lex, did you use a relay for the install. I hear that this enables the ballasts to draw power directly from the battery rather than go through the electrical system. Is this even needed ? Also, does this affect the "auto on" feature of the headlights ? I heard you need another adapter to retain this feature. Cripes, the further I research, the more questions I have.
  15. Considering Bulbs after the first year are not covered under warranty, that is the only thing that the warranty would affect. RS offers a lifetime warranty so you can't go wrong.
  16. My pops used zymol on his black Mustang and the paint looked like you could stick your finger 3" into it. Awesome stuff to use maybe twice a year because it is on the abrasive side. Meguiars Mirror Glaze Swirl remover 2.0 followed by Lanes Premium gold wax is unbelievable.

    I'm new

Those last 2 words are wrong in so many ways. If you wanted stick, why did you buy the Edge ?
  18. Thanks Druck. What exactly is the LTM and what does the reprogram do?
  19. Thanks for the info Lex, that helps narrow it down. I am still a little confused looking at RS website as they have 9145, H1, H11, H3 and so on. What is the difference between these kits? I do want to stay away from a bluish tint and just have clean white color.....my wife wants purple and I said hell no. I am interested in 5000K as this seems to be in the color spectrum that I am looking for.
  20. Larger rims 20's, smaller sidewall tires means less roll while cornering and better steering response. The 18's , tires have a larger sidewall, more flex more roll in corners and less steering response. The 20's will have a harsher ride than the 18's.
  21. What is the best kit to buy? I read through the 5 or so pages and cannot make up my mind....35 watt, 55 watt ??? Slim ? I have no idea what kit to purchase. Someone please help, I need this kit, due to my night blindness....and the stock headlights on the Edge suck ass IMHO. Thanks !
