  1. Thanks for the video! It seems the brushes wear all the way down and then lose contact with the commutator. If the brushes are desoldered and replacements resoldered properly should the fix be reliable? I guess it would be like a remanufactured Ford fan. He uses replacement brushes marked FM-312 but they don't seem available anywhere. The dimensions look to be 6mm x 7mm x 20mm. Does that seem right? These on Amazon should be the right size but a different style. Cutting the copper wire from the gold clip would seem to make them like the OEM brushes. Would the length and gauge of the copper wire be an issue? https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Carbon-Brushes-Electric-Replacement/dp/B07DYW3MG6/
  2. Thanks for explaining this. Is it possible to open these Ford radiator fans to see if the brushes are worn down? Maybe they wear unevenly and get jammed at an angle against the rotor to seize it? Maybe using some fine grit sandpaper on the contacts if they are burnt or dirty? Are these definitely brushed motors or could they be brushless? Would some silicone spray on the rotor help free them up if they get stuck? It seems sometimes you can tap them with a wrench and they start spinning freely again.
