Hello,
I really need help. We bought our daughter a used 2016 Ford Edge in May 2020 and it had roughly 35,000 miles on it. It currently has 46,000 miles. This summer, while driving on the freeway, her car lost acceleration. Although she could maintain for a little while (without acceleration the car naturally started to slow down), but she couldn't accelerate! She pulled off on the shoulder of the freeway and turned her car off. She restarted it, got back on the freeway and it did it again. Eventually she got home (thank you, Jesus!). We tried to recreate it, but it didn't happen for me. Since then, the problem has occurred a handful of times (see video). We've taken the car to Mossy Ford three times and they can't seem to experience it so they can't investigate the problem. I sent them the video, but unless the problem happens when they drive the car, they can't do anything about it. In the video you will see the check engine light on which was the first time the light ever came on when the car was experiencing the acceleration failure. Mossy Ford cleared the code but didn't think it was related to the problem. It must not have been because the acceleration has failed since then. We are so frustrated! Our daughter is 17 years old and can no longer drive the car anywhere on the freeway. Does anyone know anything about this? Any advice or recommendation? I'm very appreciative and grateful for any help! Sorry...apparently I can't upload an 8 second video. If you are interested in helping or might think you have an idea of what's going on, I can email the video to you.
