  1. I had to have a rear stud replaced on my 2010 SE. They were able to remove the parking brake assembly, cut off part of the stud and then punch it out.
  2. I have a 2010 SE AWD and just replaced the Exide (12/2017) battery in June. I have never had a problem with the battery leaking at all. You probably have an overcharging problem. I have replaced the alternator twice. The first time with a Wilson (BBB Industries) rebuilt which started giving me trouble after 2 years. I replaced it with a new Motorcraft.
  3. Charge your battery. If your car wants to shut off after a few minutes, it usually means the alternator is not working and the battery is almost dead.
  4. Do a site search. I believe there was a post last week on BMS reset. The easiest way is to let the car sit for 8 hours without starting.
  5. You might be overfilling the tank when you gas up. Next fill up stop when the pump first clicks off and see what happens.
  6. Try cleaning the throttle body and MAF. It can't hurt.
  7. My 2010 AWD uses Mercon V not power steering fluid. Try doing a flush and putting in the correct fluid.
  8. Victor Charge the battery, check the voltage, then start the car. Check the voltage with a VOM while the car is running. It sounds like you have a bad alternator.
  9. 9:30 today I took the Edge in. 9:37 paperwork done and car went inside 11:57 car completed.
  10. When I put a non-pats key in my 2010 SE, it will crank but will not start.
  11. Is the Anti- theft light flashing?
  12. If you buy the tool, you can get one for 1/2 the cost of the one you listed.
  13. Thanks for the update. I was wondering if it could be water in the gas?
  14. A little late but I just got back from checking my 2010. It's a light green wire going to the PS Pressure switch.
  15. I'm too lazy to get it done. I'll post when I do.
  16. I'm getting ready to rotate my tires and my new spare. I was reading up on what Haz posted for me in another thread and came across this: TPMS indicator FLASHES for 70 seconds and then remains ON solid when the ignition key is turned to the ON position, the message center (if equipped) displays TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT and DTC B2872 is present Intermittent TPMS operation due to Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) TPMS sensors not trained Not all TPMS sensors are installed TPMS sensor(s) SJB NOTE: If the vehicle has been stationary for more than 30 minutes, the sensors will go into a "sleep mode" to conserve battery power. It will be necessary to wake them up so they will transmit the latest tire pressure information to the SJB . ACTIVATE the TPMS sensors. REFER to Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Sensor Activation in this section. GO to Pinpoint Test F. 17. Edgemaster I have a 2010 SE which doesn't have a message center, so when a tire loses pressure a light comes on and I have to figure out which one is bad. If you have a full size spare or one of your old wheels you could try putting it on one wheel at a time and see if your message changes. An easier thing to try would be to let some air out of the tires one at a time and seeing if you get a low pressure warning for the tire you're working on. If you get a warning, then the sensor is working. Don't forget to air up before you go to the next tire.
  18. Just an update; I finally got around to getting my new spare balanced. 1. mounted it on rear. 2. started car and no TPMS light 3. drove about 3 miles still no light 4. dropped pressure from 36 psi to 19 psi, drove about a mile, still no light 5. took off spare and replaced tire Next time I'll program the spare and see what happens.
  19. Enigma, That was basically my original question. my 2010 SE has the basic TPMS system (a light comes on when a tire has low pressure) I mounted a tire on my OEM wheel with OEM sensor but never got it balanced. It's been sitting in the barn for a couple of months. i should be rotating my tires soon and will put the new spare on to see if the light goes out when I drive without a reprogram.
  20. I got my recall letter 10/1/22. Next step is to make an appointment.
  21. I don't know where you're from but here in NYC there is a rat problem. It seems they like to chew on the wiring. Check all your harnesses for nibbles. This spring I had 2 tires replaced and was told there was a plastic bag on my engine. It seems that Micky dragged a bad of chicken bones up there to have a secluded meal. A few times in the past I got the smell of bacon cooking while driving. When I checked there was a quarter inch blob of melted fat on the intake manifold.
  22. I guess I didn't word my question correctly. Will the TPMS light go out automatically when I change out a full size spare after getting a flat. I know I have to activate the spare by driving a bit. Ben says it will read the new tire without any changes. Thanks Ben, that's the answer I was looking for and I always carry a small compressor with me. Haz I have the Ford Shop Manual (a paper copy) and didn't see the answer. Thanks for posting.
