  1. Thanks. The guy at Autoglass said Ford probably changed the spec because they had so many failures with the laminated glass, most likely due to flexing caused by vehicle movement, or susceptibility to stone-chips.
  2. Thanks Omar, I should have searched the forum first I guess. It looks like there has been quite some discussion about it already. The noise issue is a bit concerning though. I've not noticed anything, but as I've not had chance to take the car out onto the motorway yet, it's a little too early to tell.
  3. I've just had my cracked sunroof repaired (the static glass part rather than the moving part) but the firm who did it were unable to source it in the laminated glass as originally fitted to my 2018 ST-Line and replaced with toughened. They called their supplier who confirmed the laminated glass was no longer available and Ford had replaced it with toughened. Why would Ford do that? Has anyone else come across this when getting their broken glass sunroof repaired?
  4. My Edge has the factory fitted trailer connector fitted on a bracket that pushes up out of the way and out of sight when not in use. Have you checked that yours is not the same?
  5. Hi, welcome to the forum. Great pic, it looks lovely there with those palm trees. Where is it?
  6. Wow... that's some heavy consumption. Guess that's why we have much smaller engines in our Edges over here. I don't get anything like the official figures but am currently averaging at 34mpg.
  7. All the European Edges come with front and rear fog lamps. What's the difficulty with fitting the correct switch from an Edge?
  8. Nice looking Edge. Welcome to our forum.
  9. Hi there, welcome to the forum. Where in the world are you? If you have any photos of your Edge we'd love to see them.
  10. Always loved these big American pick-ups. Unfortunately we have fewer than a 1,000 of the F-150 over here - the roads and parking spaces are just not big enough!
  11. We have the Ford Edge in North America, Europe and the Middle East but in Australia and New Zealand it's called the Ford Endura (apparently the Edge name was already being used by another manufacturer). Do we have any Endura owners down-under who are members of this forum? It would be great to hear from you and see some pics of your cars.
  12. I always knew there were lots of Kentuckys* in London but not that there was a London in Kentucky! * a KFC restaurant is commonly referred to as a "Kentucky" in the UK
  13. Very close to Gatwick Airport then.
  14. What concerns me is because everything on the car is now managed by a computer (even the automatic gearbox) one day Ford might decide it is no longer "supported" and the entire car then becomes one huge, expensive brick.

    Edge ST-Line

Guess you could get a LHD one imported from continental Europe. Mind you, would you be happy with the 180PS (177BHP) twin-turbo 2 litre diesel engine it comes with? We've never been able to get anything like the 335 BHP V6s you guys can get.
  16. For real? Crawley, East Sussex.....or a Crawley somewhere in the US?
  17. Cool. I'm just a hour from Portsmouth.
  18. Indeed it is. That's why I wrote I should have said North America, rather than America.
  19. Ah...my bad. I should've said North America.
  20. I was going to say that, but then thought maybe most American garages were as neat as that. That floor is amazing. Mine is concrete, less than half the size and with a couple of coats of cheap Ronseal garage floor paint!
  21. Ford have assembly plants in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, India, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, USA, Venezuela and Vietnam as well as in Mexico. Why would they (and how could they) possibly close all of them to produce vehicles only in Mexico??
  22. That car looks great Claude, really impactful!
