  1. That should work too. I have a lot of my iTunes music loaded onto an old iPod Touch (which is essentially an iPhone without the phone bit) and it works fine.
  2. Yes, thermal shock can cause the glass to fracture. However the most common reason (according to the glass replacement company who did my roof glass) for Edge sunroofs to crack is stress, caused by the vehicle flexing whilst in use.
  3. That's interesting. When the laminated glass sunroof cracked on my Edge it was replaced with toughened/tempered glass, but I didn't notice any increase in noise as a result.
  4. I had the panoramic roof glass on my 2018 ST-Line crack just like that at about 10,000 miles. Luckily it was covered by the windscreen policy included with my car insurance, so just had just a nominal sum to pay (£50). The company that did the replacement told me that Ford no longer supply this roof glass laminated (it just isn't strong enough for this use and they all crack like that eventually) ; they provide only toughened glass (aka tempered) which is about 10 times more resistant to breaking. Only problem is if it does break all the tiny little fragments come crashing down on your head and get everywhere inside the cabin, including inside the roof mechanism. The work was completed in less than an hour. I think the guy who fitted mine said the replacement glass cost about £1,000.
  5. No, you just need to fill out an online form and pay the €3.72 fee and they post it to you.
  6. Just set my Edge up for it's first road-trip overseas. Stuck my French "Air Quality Control Certificate" in the windscreen. Set the headlamps to "right hand traffic". And changed the display to kilometres! Allons en France!
  7. I keep all my music on old iPod Nanos. You can pick them up very cheaply still (faulty screens and dud batteries don't mater), load them with your favourite playlists and they work really well with Sync 3. l
  8. That's pretty. Is it self-applied?
  9. Fake engine sounds?? I'm not aware of the Edge having fake engine sounds. Why does it have this "feature" and on what models?
  10. Thanks. That's a lovely looking CBX you've got there. 70s Japanese classics are so cool.
  11. Yep. I had the tailgate come down on my head once because the cat walked under the car! It seems a good feature in theory, but in my experience it rarely works when you want it to, and often works when you don't.
  12. All the iPods I have (2 Classics, 5 Nanos and a Touch) charge OK on the USB sockets. I've not tried an iPad though. That might be different.
  13. I have two iPods permanently plugged into each of the USBs on my 2018 Edge and have never had an issue with the battery draining. I've left the car for more than three weeks sometimes and the car has always started, no problem. As far as I'm aware the USB power shuts off about 10 minutes after the ignition.
  14. It needs to be on the same side as the pedals!
  15. Welcome to the Forum. I'd like to see a pic of the car with its new wheels once fitted.
  16. Thanks. It was the colour I'd been looking for, and with fewer than 5,000 miles on the clock I just had to have it.
  17. That must've happened to at least half of all the Fords I've had, some within three years of being new. Thankfully though my Edge is showing no signs yet, despite it being five years old.
  18. Great in theory but not in practice. It never works when I want it to, and only works when I don't!
  19. Welcome Chris. Where are you and what Edge do you have?
  20. They aren't obsolete for those of us who don't want our music interrupted by texts, notifications and phone calls all the time and want to listen to music that isn't available on Spotify. I usually keep about eight iPods in my Edge - seven Nanos and a Touch. The Nanos play perfectly, the Touch can be a bit buggy sometimes but unfortunately Sync 3 can't cope with any of my iPod Classics, even those with an SSD conversion.
  21. Way more sales. There are 266,423 Kugas (Escapes) on UK roads compared to just 7,908 Edges. That's more than 30 times as many!
