  1. Thank you, I will post on that and see is he ever came up with a solution!
  2. Did you ever find a way to install a second battery???
  3. Again, thank you for your input and suggestions. I have spent a fair amount of research into portable power systems and find that the Inergy Flex system is close to what my needs are. However, this model wont be released until October 2020 and they are no longer selling their previous Apex model. So since I dont want to lose the entire summer, and to have a more formalized permanent system in my vehicle, I am hoping to build a similar system in my Edge. I just dont know where on the vehicle I can mount the Lithium-ion battery. Which does not have issues with gas/acid like lead batteries do. Which is why I am focused on where to locate and mount the battery............ Was just hoping that someone else on here had figured this out already.
  4. Well, I do have a hitch, but no camper ? the portable fridge is behind the seat in the SUV.
  5. Ok, thanks for your input. I plan on using a 12v Lithium-ion Battery, so no worries there. This will give me greater lasting watt hours than any of the camping power stations can provide. This way I can run all of my 12v equipment and minimize solar charging time, and not risk draining my starting battery.
  6. I want to be able to run the car fridge continuously off the dual battery. Any particular reason why you wouldnt recommend it? The camping power generators dont provide enough continuous power for long trips to remote locations.......
  7. I am planning on installing a dual battery system in my 2014 Ford Edge, and am looking for any helpful suggestions on where to install the extra battery. The engine compartment seems pretty crammed. Anyone else installa dual system, and if so any tips and tricks greatly appreciated. The secondary battery system needs to be able to be charged by the alternator, an AC supply, or solar charging panels, and will run a DC cooler and camping equipment. Thanks!
