Group 65 Battery in 2nd Gen Possible?
my2k2zx2 replied to omar302's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
We put an H7 in our 2016 back in 2021. The tray is just big enough for the H7 and does have a mounting hole for the retaining bracket. -
Driving today, got a wrench icon with a see manual. Had a code scan done and P130D came up. I'm not seeing much info as to what caused the error. Had this error years ago and got a new throttle body, but that was done without any code scan. Just like before, shutting the car off and back on cleared the wrench. It was coming up frequently before the throttle body was changed, only showed up once so far.

2016 Edge SEL, screen went black while driving today. Shows "No Audio" in the instrument cluster. I've held the power and seek right button for the soft reset, the lights around the usb ports flash but nothing gets the screen back. The front usb ports do not have any power, phone shows no charging when plugged in to either port. The speakers beep when reverse sensors are near an object. I've checked fuses under the hood and some under the dash, cant find anything blown. Not sure where to look or what to try to get the screen working. edit: found a used Sync 3 head unit, swapped the little daughter boards around and the screen is back in business.

I replaced mine in April, (see post above) and have not had the wrench icon show up once. It was coming on almost every time I was driving before it was replaced.

I just got done replacing my 2016 2.0 throttle body. We were getting a wrench icon with a "see owners manual" message constantly. I did not get a code reading with my scanner. Seems that was common with F150 models with the wrench icon. This is the one that I bought on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/144902748645 The vehicle is a lot more responsive and the wrench icon has not come back.

The T50 I had was loose to begin with, was afraid it would fully strip out. The TP50 I had fit much better. Knowing that I'm doing it again in the spring I figured it would be easy to replace the plugs at that time.
-
What is the part # for replacement drain plugs? I have a 2016 2.0 and had a heck of a time getting them out. I did use a Torx Plus bit but damaged them a bit with the torque needed to break them free. I'd like to replace them when I change the fluid again in the sprint.

Took me about 45 minutes to install on our 2016. JLT sent me the wrong kind of hoses so I had to redo the whole setup. If you do get their kit, make sure you get "Gates Barricade" or you will have severe fuel vapors enter the cabin while driving.
-
I have an Edge with the 2.0 but went through this issue with my JLT install back in November. They sent me the hoses that the gas fumes easily go through, after 100 miles the cabin air is thick with oil/fuel vapors. I contacted them and they said they would send replacement hoses, but while waiting for them to arrive I went to town and bought some Gates Barricade hoses. The temps were going to drop too far to work on the vehicle when the replacement hoses would arrive. That was done in December and so far we have not had the fume issue come back.

Battery Removal 2016 Edge Titanium 2L EcoBoost
my2k2zx2 replied to oskar27's topic in 2016 Edge & MKX
It is that easy. There is room to get it out after removing that lower bracket off. You can remove the air filter box for more room but is completely optional. -
I followed this and there was plenty of room to access the drain & fill plugs. T50 is quite loose, TP50 is the correct size. My 3/8 ratchet did not provide leverage to get either plug to budge. It's snowing now so I'll have to revisit this when it's warmer.
-
I was using this guide and ours had the exact setup. Just could not get the drain plugs to budge.
-
I tried to change the PTU fluid on our 2016 today but I could not get either drain plug to budge with my basic 3/8 ratchet. I'm hoping to get it loose after I get a longer ratchet.

We have an aftermarket (fortin) remote start that uses the factory fob. We go lock-unlock-lock and the vehile starts up. We did have a CEL come on last year and the remote start would not work until the issue was fixed and the code was cleared.

Group 65 Battery in 2nd Gen Possible?

H7 does fit, put one in our 2016 earlier this year. I removed the air filter box lid and moved the ground wire out of the way to install. I did not have to remove the cowling to fit. The battery tray has threaded holes for 3 different sized batteries, but is not mentioned in any documentation. If you look up the battery on parts.ford.com it shows 90T5, H6 and H7 as compatible options. I found that after the parts store in town only showed the stock battery size and it was special order only. https://imgur.com/EFRbtXS -
Last week I was getting a P0036 code, so I replaced the oxygen sensor. This week I'm now getting a P0330 code, knock sensor 2. Is this something that I can fix on my own or would I be better off taking it in to be replaced? Or is there something else that can be done to take care of this issue?

Yeah, I think that's what I'm looking at for the drain. How easy is it to remove the intake tube? Or would it be enough to cover things with foil while I'm doing the drain/refill? https://imgur.com/GEndJjW

I'm planning on changing the PTU fluid. What I'm seeing doesn't look like anything I've seen on other Edge PTU. The ones that I've seen had the fill and drain on the same side. I think mine has the fill on the side and the drain on the bottom and both appear to need a T50 to remove. Would that be the correct fill & drain plugs?
