  1. Several ways you can do it... Sport head/tail lights have the inside painted black instead of chrome. You can also get vehicle-specific tint overlays and apply to your existing lights. Lastly, you can paint them. VHT Nightshades is one particular product you can use to do this. Search on the forum for "unique coatings" and you will find a guy who actually applies a coating to your lights to give that look as well.
  2. You can find much cheaper, much better alternatives out there if you're going to spend the money...
  3. And if you're catching a signal from the rear, it's probably too late to do anything about it...
  4. It is used so that you can use features like nav, video, etc. while the vehicle is in motion. Sends a signal to the HU as if the parking brake was engaged.
  5. Patriot Decals... Although, today I found out they can no longer produce the Ford script. They do good custom work, though
  6. Just put these on today, thought I would post some pictures for everyone to see...
  7. Search a little harder... Here
  8. I've had varying feedback on the bluetooth quality, so I can't really comment on that. I can hear everyone else just fine... As far as SYNC compatibility, I don't have SYNC equipped on my vehicle, but if you want this to work you'll need a SYNC retention harness, which can be pricey. For more information on the specs of the unit itself, check out Pioneer's site
  9. I received it today; I'm guessing every Edge owner has received/will receive the same letter
  10. If you're looking for cloth headrests, you're most likely going to have to go the custom route. Haven't see anything but leather myself
  11. Do some searching on here... There are several threads showing aftermarket headunit installs
  12. Any time you switch out the headunit you need adapters and wiring harnesses, etc. Either of those adapters look like they should work. When installing the PAC SWI-PS be sure to mount the adapter somewhere so that it isn't rattling around; your controls will go in and out intermittingly
  13. Yes you will. I used a Metra harness I purchased at Fry's. Look at Crutchfield or Amazon, there's several brands available. I soldered and shrink tubed all the connections to keep them sturdy
  14. Whether you have nav or not, all Edges have a double din opening, so any aftermarket double din unit will fit
  15. Most people with the USB in the center console have it already occupied by an iPod or other media player... and besides, why would you want something that bulky when you could have something much more aesthetically pleasing and stock looking? Plus, the description of that flash drive never says anything about the light actually lighting up. Only that there is a "red LED indicator"
  16. You'll need an adapter for the Sirius but i believe you can still use the stock antenna
  17. I was never given an explanation as to why the Ford antenna adapters don't fit, but the Chrysler ones do...
  18. The music will play, but you won't be able to control the ipod or have track info on the unit. To be honest, you probably won't even be able to do that with the stock usb port either, so the Pioneer ipod cable will give you the most functionality.
  19. I didn't have the stock usb port so i used the pioneer cable for ipod. This cable also allows for track info, album artwork, and video to be displayed on the unit so that's the route i took. I also had no need for the aux in jack because of this. Now if you're not using an ipod, then that doesn't help. Can you rearrange the pin order on your plug to match the harness?
  20. What model are you installing? I did a 4100DVD recently and may be able to help out... Check out my thread here
  21. Take it back to the dealer... Most likely it's just a programming issue
  22. This topic has been covered multiple times (by the same poster, I might add), you might try searching for your answers first.
  23. Why is this a "BIG PAIN IN THE ASS"? Don't get it.
  24. Can't powdercoat the grill as it is chromed plastic. You'll have to media blast and paint or do a vinyl overlay (both of which have been shown on the forum). For the tails, pretty much the only thing I've seen is tinting them
  25. Spend $20-30 on the PAC TR-7, or make your own for about $6 using a relay from Radio Shack. It's really simple
