With high hopes riding on the Fusion & Edge, I wonder why Ford chose to leave off the center stack vent open/close feature on the EDGE, while doing it for the outboard vents. I personnal don't like the wind in my hair ALL the time, I reserve that for my Mustang convert! Rest assured the competition has them. Also deleted is the outside temp reading on the EDGE, while the Fusion , Taurus, F-150/ 250 truck retain them. I miss that. Once you've had it for the past decade or so, you miss it. Are you listening Ford? Lastly the center stack GLARE. Man, who signed off on THAT fo-pah!

After driving a pre-production EDGE, I ordered one for my wife. SEL, Creme Brulle, Black cloth, chrome 18" whls. Nice ride! Except for some dashboard problems. First, the center stack vents don't have a close feature, so you always have air blowing on you....while the outboard vents can be closed(?) The lack of the outside temp reading isn't a big deal, but afterhaving it in the last dozen or so FoMoCo products, it's been ommitted on the EDGE. And then there's the GLARE!!! Without the Mrs. even noticing, I painted the outboard vent surrounds flat black to kill the glare, and now am searching for some window tint to cut and lay over the center stack, while Brillo padding the chrome off the center vents to give it the brushed aluminum look. Any more ideas out there?

Jodi...you won't be disappointed at all with the Edge. I'm a Ford employee who has driven both the AWD and FWD long distances..(500 miles plus). The AWD at a steady 70M.P.H. returned 22 MPG in a VERY stiff headwind. The FWD, same speed, lighter wind, got 23 MPG. I drive all of the Ford line from passenger cars to large fleet (F-650) trucks approximately 150,000 miles a year and to date, I believe the new EDGE is the quietest and most comfortible vehicle Ford has built to date. I liked it so much, I've ordered a Creme B / Charcoal cloth for my wife to replace her 04' Explorer.
