  1. Hi Debbie, Some condensation in the tail (and head) light is considered normal. You'll find mention of it in your owner's manual. I don't know the year of your car or I'd offer a page number. What's 'not' normal is very heavy condensation that results in large droplets of water on the lens and a puddle at the bottom of the housing. Ford dealers know the difference and 'will' replace the housing under warranty if the problem is excessive. There's an option: If you're out of warranty or the issue isn't severe enough for replacement there's a simple fix. You'll find details on my Ford Mods & Tips page here: https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/stuff/stuff.html#conden
  2. You didn't mention where on the planet you are. The site you mention isn't the official Ford site for North America map updates, this is: https://syncnavigation.com/ford/home Updates for your year are $109 for the download. If you live in one of the countries shown in the download section of NaviExtras (screen grab below) you should have been told 'before' the download there would be a fee. If you're in North America the download shouldn't have happened after you entered your VIN and Sync info.
  3. Checking the 2020 Edge brochure (online) the heated/cooled seats are available as part of the 301A option package on Titanium, the 401A package on Titanium Elite and 401A (pictured) for ST. Without the packages the Edge gets heated seats only.
  4. You'll get a more accurate answer if you include the year of your Edge in a message. So you don't have to remember it each time, go to your profile page and fill out the Sig area to include year/model etc. I can't help with the antenna location but this 'might' help with programming if you have a Gen2 Edge. 1. Press the Start button (don't start the engine) 2. Press the hazard warning button six times on/off/on/off/on/off Your horn will sound. 3. Work your way clockwise around the car starting with the left front, slowly letting air out of each tire until the horn sounds. A single beep means that corner is programmed. A double beep means there's a problem, try it again. If there's another fail there's likely an issue with the wheel sensor. 4. After you've done the last (left rear) corner check your display. It should say something like TPMS programming complete. 5. Hit the Start button again to turn everything off. Air your tires back up to the spec posted on the driver's door sill. 6. Go for a short drive with the tire display showing on the dash. You should now have pressures displayed and (bonus) they'll be at the correct corner of the car. Tuck this away for the next time you rotate tires to keep the display accurate (so front pressures don't show on the rear etc).
  5. Here's a link to my Edge Mods & Tips page with a picture showing the power and defrost buttons. It shouldn't matter whether the system is on or off when you do the reset. https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/tips/quick_tips.html#ac_reset
  6. Have you tried a reset? Reset AC doors when one side is blowing hot, the other is cold (and they're both set the same) 1. Press your start/stop engine/accessory button (don't start the engine) 2. Press AC on/off and Defrost buttons simultaneously to reset the blend doors 3. When you hear a click (or after 10 seconds) release the buttons 4. Press AC on/off one more time. You should be good to go but some have reported having to do this more than once.
  7. Is your replacement a genuine Motorcraft part for your year or is it one of those aftermarket (eBay/Amazon etc) cameras? If it's the latter you just have to cut either the green or white wire sticking out of the camera cable. If it's OEM there's probably a sync process someone else can help with.
  8. The module will work fine in any Sync3 system. The camera I used has an adapter that fits the 2015-2018 grille but if you're at all handy you can adapt most any camera to fit the later grille. They're really small. My installation is only 3 months old but works perfectly, no issues at all.
  9. Battery life is partly dependent on your environment. Heat kills them quickly and here in the desert southwest that means 3-4 years is maximum life. It's going to be 115 degrees or warmer several days this week so I expect to see lots of vehicles with their hoods up in area parking lots.
  10. I don't see an R134A recharge kit anyplace on the site you referenced. Try Amazon where there are many options. Here are a couple of examples (from the U.S. site, not CA) Small containers of R134 https://amzn.to/2DbYYy9 Depending how low your system is you might only need a single can or ???? This is the hose and gauge (that you'll be able to reuse for many years) https://amzn.to/2Z3Vian Another option is one that includes the bottle of refrigerant already attached to a hose and gauge. I don't know if you can reuse any part of it though.
  11. The different size connectors have prevented you from making a huge mistake. You're trying to put R12 into an R134 system. The low pressure side connection for R134 will be a 13mm fitting, for R12 it's 7/16". Toss the R12 (or better, take it to an AC repair shop so it can be saved in a special tank) and get an R134 kit for recharging. BTW there should be a sticker near the hood latch telling you what refrigerant is in the system.
  12. Your best bet is to watch this MacT video:
  13. Thanks SO much for pointing out the broken links. Just a little coding glitch, all fixed now. Cheers!
  14. I'd suggest you visit a different dealer or an independent shop. Coolant leaking from a weep hole of 'any' water pump indicates seals are failing. For the '13 there are two seals. If the inner one fails coolant is released through the weep hole as a warning. If the second one fails coolant will dump into the oil sump potentially causing catastrophic engine damage.
  15. If you haven't visited recently take a look at Gadget's Edge Mods page: https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge The front page has been freshened up and there's a ton of information added frequently to the "Say What? and "Odds n Ends" pages. The Center Console Renovation page now has measurements for the compartment dividers so you can create a copy without all the effort of taking your own measurements and making patterns. As always the site is totally free of advertising, cookies or membership requirements. Have fun!
  16. It's a handy place to plug in your battery charger? Oh wait, maybe not.
  17. In Europe the Edge is diesel powered. It has a much higher tow rating too. " The new Edge also debuts in Europe a new powerful and fuel-efficient bi-turbo variant of Ford’s 2.0 litre EcoBlue diesel engine, combined with a new eight-speed automatic transmission for effortless cruising. " https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/feu/en/products/suv/edge/edge.html
  18. I might have a couple This phone holder is designed to sit right on top of the dash (where you're placing your phone now I think). It's a clamshell that works well. https://amzn.to/3eBJ7GZ This one inserts into the CD player slot and holds the phone using a magnet. A small steel plate mounts either to the back of the phone or between the phone and case: https://amzn.to/2Z9Ct4j I made my own but it probably won't work for you. Here's a link anyway: https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/phone/phone_hold.html Upside of all three, you don't lose an air conditioning vent to a phone mount. Routing a cable gets easier the lower the phone is mounted but if you look at your console the two side panels can be easily removed (just held on with clips). With the right side panel removed you can snake a USB cable from the center cubby (USB data ports) out to the passenger side for additional routing.
  19. I might be blowing (Ford blue) smoke here since I've no experience with that grille but....couldn't you just make your own adapter? Grab some flat stock cut to whatever length/width you need (aluminum would be easy to work with) and drill holes patterned after the OEM openings plus a third hole for a mounting bolt or stud. Paint it black. Mount the camera in your adapter, put it wherever you want on the new grille (you might have to modify the grille a little for the camera to fit through the grid) than use that bolt or stud and a large washer on the back of the grille to hold it in place. If you want you could cut away some of the new grille to inset your adapter so it's a flush mount. There's always a way.
  20. Regular waxing with the rest of the car 'might' have allowed it to last a bit longer but in the end the sun seems to kill all of them. The oval in the picture is obviously dead. The good news is you have many many replacement options. Check eBay, Etsy, Amazon, Pinterest etc. Someone posted (not too long ago) a way to replace the oval on the Gen2 without completely removing the front bumper/grille assembly. As I recall he just removed all the bolts on the top allowing him to pull the grill forward enough to get a wrench on the bolts. A very tight fit but doable.
  21. Ok, now I get it. Actually I wasn't aware those inserts were OEM parts. Are they actually part of the mirror or are they stick-ons of some sort? If the latter maybe you an remove and reset them at a new angle.
  22. Check out Gadget's Edge Mods Forscan page to disable the liftgate kick feature here: https://www.gadgetjq.net/edge/forscan/forscan.html#lgate Another option, just unplug the sensor. the connector is under the rear bumper on the passenger side. You might have to remove the bottom panel (with all those little screws in it) to reach the connector. This does not disable the dash or liftgate buttons or your remote button to open/close the liftgate.
  23. Hi David, I'll be visiting a local 'pick-a-part' or two in the coming week. Hopefully I can salvage a camera from a wrecked Edge or other Ford (just guessing they use pretty much the same camera at least across SUV lines). Stay tuned! ?
  24. It's not uncommon to see threads about failing backup cameras in the Gen 1 Edge but pretty rare to see one in a Gen 2. The camera in my '16 Ti is slowly dying. Sometimes it displays a perfect image but others it's very dark (but rightside up). If I stay in reverse for long with that dark display I get a popup message saying "Camera not available." So, a question. Is replacement inevitable or has someone discovered a cure for this (so far) intermittent problem? Thanks!
