  1. I don't know but it costs you nothing to go to the update site and enter your VIN + ESN numbers. Once you do that you'll either be taken to an update page or be told the numbers are bogus. Give it a try! Cheers!
  2. Questions that need answering before anyone can make a suggestion: Is the bulb lighting just not blinking or is it not coming on at all? Is the passenger side rear working properly or not blinking? Is the left side working properly? If the right rear is working correctly (or hyper flashing) it indicates bad bulb or possibly a bad socket/connection on the right front.
  3. The Carfax should provide your engine and some other information. To determine 'all' of the equipment your Edge came with from the factory you can pay a couple of dollars to get the original window sticker. Here's a link: https://removeandreplace.com/2013/03/24/find-your-cars-window-sticker-online/ There are also links from Ford's web page like Etis: https://www.etis.ford.com where you can gather vehicle information but the site can be very confusing. The 'maximum' the Edge is rated to tow with a factory installed towing package is 3500 pounds, the hitch weight would be 350 pounds. Anything beyond that will exceed the Class 2 hitch capabilities. The trailer you shopped with a 3415 pound dry weight will easily exceed 3500 pounds when you fill your fresh water tank and load it with food, clothing, pots & pans and all the other 'stuff' that goes with traveling. Not mentioned in tow standards is the frontal area of the trailer. Be sure when shopping you minimize that area by using the type travel trailer with a roof that can be lowered like a classic tent trailer (though there are much fancier types these days). Enjoy the hunt!
  4. Congratulations on your new Edge! You might want to take a look at the Sync forum to learn all about your Sync2 system and any workarounds that will let you use your iPhone as an audio source if nothing else. Maybe there are some Car Play workarounds. Here's a link: https://fordsyncforum.com/index.php Scroll down to the Sync2 section. Cheers!
  5. If you're referring to door lock/unlock keypads it's unlikely you'd be able to retrofit anything that would look original. Small keyfob batteries typically last for years and are easy and cheap to replace.
  6. STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM If the bolts corrode, the steering gear motor may detach from the gear housing resulting in a loss of power steering assist, requiring a greater steering effort, especially at lower speeds, and increasing the risk of a crash. NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 Components: STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM Summary Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, 2015-2016 Ford Edge, and 2016 Lincoln MKX vehicles originally sold, or currently registered in Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Road salt or other contaminants may corrode the electric power steering gear motor attachment bolts. Remedy Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering gear motor bolts and apply a wax sealer. If any of the steering gear motor attachment bolts are broken or missing, a new steering gear will be installed in the vehicle. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall is expected to begin October 7, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19S26. Notes Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
  7. Added climate control category to right side display using FORScan. Some of you might already have this. I didn't and, while it isn't particularly useful considering the main climate display already duplicates the hard buttons it's available sooooo why not?

That's your 'something's seriously wrong with me' light. You'll want to plug an OBDII reader into the port under your dash and pull the code(s) to see what's gone wrong. It could be as simple as a loose gas cap but don't delay getting it checked out and drive as little as possible as it could be something pretty serious. If you don't have your own code reader head for an auto supply store where they'll lend you one.
  9. You 'might' be able to use a Ford fob that doesn't include a remote start button. That would shrink it by a half inch (13mm) or so. Replacement OEM remotes are all over eBay. Another option, albeit a dangerous one, take the fob out of your pocket and leave it in the car. Use the door keypad to lock/unlock. Final option, stop wearing such tight pants!
  10. It's hard to imagine Ford redesigning the wiring harness to move the fuse box but stranger things have happened I guess. The photo below shows what's inside the opening with my drawer removed. Compare it to later models with the cover to determine whether changes have been made Keep in mind the drawer slopes down when it's closed, it isn't aimed straight back.
  11. Along with one horn (and who knows what else) Ford eliminated the drawer and slapped an access cover (just pull to remove) in that space at some point in the Gen2 run (I'll go with Omar's 2018). The good news is that opening is completely unchanged year to year so, yep, a drawer from a '15-'17 you can probably find at an auto wrecking yard will pop right in. Cheers!
  12. And that, sir, is why everyone should spend as much time as necessary to read the owner's manuals (preferably while sitting in the car) cover to cover. If the car is purchased used and there's no manual, no problem. Ford offers manuals in .pdf form at no charge on their website. That said, you're certainly not alone. There was an incident in my area earlier this summer involving a mom who locked her child in a car and the fob wouldn't unlock the door. She dialed 911, cops arrived and broke out the side window to get inside. You know where I'm going with this right? She had the old school 'key' in her hand the whole time, it was in the fob and she could have simply unlocked the driver's door with it. The child was fine btw. Cheers!
  13. Yes sir, that's correct. Slide under the rear passenger side and you'll see a plastic cover at the bottom of the wheel well. Remove the bolts holding that cover then grab a flashlight. You'll locate the first piece of the puzzle, a four pin square plug, taped to the harness. That's where you'll start testing with a multimeter or test light looking for power when lights are on and brakes are applied. The next stop is under the right cover of the cargo area. Look through the vent above the cargo light. You 'might' be able to see some of the wiring and the area where a trailer module would be if you had the factory tow package. And so it goes. As I mentioned previously, reading other posts in this thread will give you all the info you'll need. Of course if you want, you can still connect that harness you purchased following their instructions. I believe etrailer.com has a YouTube video posted showing how to connect that harness to the Edge tail lights and battery.
  14. Hi Dmtaurus, I think you'll find you're over thinking this a little. If you scour the other posts in this section of the forum you'll find some great wiring tips ranging from what you're trying to do (if you look under the hood at the driver's side firewall you'll see a huge grommet with wiring running through. That's where you can run a power wire if needed) to (this is the easy way) connecting to the existing wiring under the passenger rear tire. It's hidden under a cover. There's a space behind the cargo area right side cover where a trailer towing module goes. You won't need the module but it's good to know where it is. Now then, once you find the four pin connector behind the right rear tire check to see if one of the pins is hot when lights are on and another is hot when brakes are applied. If yes then you're good to go, just connect your new harness to those wires. If no then you have to look a little further north. Under the carpet, about where a passengers right foot would go, there's a white connector. That connector already has trailer power running to the engine side of the connector. I don't remember the color codes but ou'll find all the above info in the other thread posts. Bottom line, don't angst about running a heavy wire all the way to the battery. One way or the other it's already in the cabin for you. We'll want photos when you're finished with your project. Cheers!
  15. Here's a link to the factory service manual for your '15: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1wBzOTmEZvCvnzvmTI470QBGyYX60xDBh Here's hoping it's just a connector because, if I recall correctly, getting to the fixture requires a log of digging.
  16. Fuse 54 in the under hood fuse box is designated for the brake light switch. Check your owner's manual or the pictogram under the fuse box lid for the location. If your center light is out and other brake lights work the fuse isn't the problem, (though it's easy to check). It could be the light fixture but it's rare or an entire strip of leds to fail. More likely it's a connection to it that's causing the issue.
  17. Pull the side trim pieces off (start with a plastic trim remover) by pulling them toward the door. Once they're off just lift the center console straight up. It's just clips, no nuts/bolts etc until you get to the shift assembly. Here's a video You can start about 1:05 in
  18. Well now I'm a little miffed. I don't have that 'rear' temperature control icon (Sync3 V3) and don't see anyplace in FORScan to turn it on. Does someone have that module and key to share? My climate screen was pretty basic as delivered. FORScan allowed me to import the seat and other assorted controls.
  19. If you're using a floor jack get one of these https://amzn.to/2PQCyIV . The slot fits over the pinch weld and adds a small amount of padding too. If you have a hockey puck laying around just cut a slot in it....freebie!
  20. That's what the 'police mode' mod is for (can't shift out of park without the fob in the car). I know, slippery slope
  21. Ah, an excuse to gather up your significant other (or someone you enjoy spending time with), open the roof and go for a nice scenic drive ?
  22. Guessing yours is complementary because it's a '19. For my '16 they want $109 to download, $149 for USB. With both Waze and Google Maps now available through Android Auto on the main screen and assuming the new map is several years behind reality it hardly seems worth it. Pass
  23. Great question, I was wondering the same thing. 'Not' having auto climate control would have been a deal breaker for my wife and me. Just like in our home, we set the thermostat to the temperature we're comfortable with then pretty much forget it though the Max Air button does get a lot of use after the Edge has been parked in the sun awhile.
  24. Except....She would have noticed the seat and mirrors had set themselves to hubby's fob. She'd have said to herself "self, why is the seat further back than normal and why can't I see the lanes next to me in my mirrors?" She'd have realized immediately the Edge hadn't set everything to her defaults and then the ah ha moment....I don't have my fob! Crisis avoided. Actually I get what you're saying AK but still, if it's an annoyance to neighbors or family members (my wife was the first to ask if I could muffle that "damned horn" when I first brought the Edge home) it's handy to be able to throttle the thing. Cheers!
