While you're waiting for a response, be checking local and online auto salvage businesses.

You aren't likely to find a dealership willing to tackle this sort of custom installation. Consider, you need a dash switch, a module to control up/down movement, sensors to determine whether there's interference with the liftgate, an electric latching mechanism, motor(s) to run the new struts and probably more. In the end you'd likely be looking way north of that $500 aftermarket price......UNLESS...You can find an Edge at an auto salvage that has the powered tailgate. In that case you could strip all of the components (after researching their locations) and install them in your car.

This https://amzn.to/2R7OODh comes standard on Titanium/Sport models. I'd suggest looking at auto salvage yards in person or online for a set.

Well, that's interesting. You got to that menu how?

Have you considered the old magnet on the oil filter canister trick? If you can't find a magnetic drain plug (or until you do) consider putting a strong neodymium magnet on the filter to trap ferrous metal particles as they circulate through the filter. Magnets out an old hard drive are perfect for the job. I don't actually know if this trick works, maybe there's a YouTube video showing an opened filter that's had magnets attached, but it can't hurt anything either. In the end it's up to the filter to trap anything large enough to damage engine parts.

That omission is actually mentioned quite a bit. There have been posts on Ford related forums asking if there's a way to connect a small beeper/horn in the cabin to that mirror light but I've never seen a working resolution. Obviously you'd only want the 'horn' to work when turn signals are activated, not every time that light comes on indicating there's a vehicle beside you and THAT seems to be the rub. If it makes you feel any better other manufacturers (looking at you Toyota) don't offer a sound effect either You might have to get a Hyundai/Kia (or Mercedes I guess) to get it.

Follow Omar's suggestion to use a lubricant (silicone works, graphite is best) in the key hole first. Another suggestion, if the key number was recorded in the owner's manual check to see if that's the key you still have. Maybe someone replaced your fob and key in the past? If that doesn't work you're probably going to have to call a locksmith. Other forum members might want to take this opportunity to try their physical key to be sure it works rather than wait for the battery to die and possibly lock you out.

There's no need. You'll be hard pressed ever to need more information about oil filters than you'll see here: http://www.gmtruckcentral.com/articles/oilfilterstudy.html BTW, WIX is a well regarded brand. If you like them, stick with them but take a look at the rating of the proverbial whipping boy Fram. Their Extended Guard filter does very well.

Rear window shattered today
Gadgetjq replied to Bwfulton4's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I've emailed the file to you. You'll notice the issue is salt intrusion around the area where the windshield wiper goes through the glass. The dealer is supposed to do something to stop that problem. Apparently they replaced your glass earlier but didn't bother to repair the problem. -

The rear hatch glass breakage issue was handled by Ford Canada per the attached Customer Service Program (not a recall) document. It's probably the reason you got the first repair without an argument. Maybe if you print it and wave it in the face of someone at your dealership they'll get the message (you dolts didn't do the repair properly the first time) and work with you. Good luck! <<MasterTVTech asked: Can I get the GT splash screen on my 2016 with Forscan? >> The answer is...Yes, unless you've updated Sync 3 to build 19025. If you're still on 18093 you're good to go. That would work but it'd be a lot easier just to look at your temp gauge. The problem with block heaters is they're easy to forget about. When I lived in Colorado I had to put a 'remove before flight' ribbon on my steering wheel when I plugged in the heater to remind me...unplug before backing out of the garage.
-
The plug is a pretty certain indicator you have a block heater. It should be easy to tell if it's working. When you fire up the engine in the morning is the coolant already warmed up? If yes, you have a functioning block heater.

That thread (now 9 pages long) started as a software discussion. This thread started off talking hardware. It appears both drifted a little.

The F150 spreadsheet works reliably with the Gen2 Edge. You just have to avoid trying modifications on equipment you don't have like folding mirrors, certain dashboard displays etc. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uDSQ1Z5a2Wt8-kjrSiVSlDFGFHnfeuhb3RTMVz95730/edit#gid=815852466 Remember the one major rule with FORScan....back up your modules before you make changes. Yes, you can download your entire AsBuilt file from Ford but it's a lot handier to have an individual module backup done just before you modify something. If the mod doesn't work it's simple to revert back.

Just curious Xtra, I see you uprated your calipers but haven't you also reduced your disk (friction) surface area by roughly 50% and weakened the disk at the same time with all those holes (which look great by the way)? Except in a racing environment it seems you'd want as much disk contacting the pads as you could get for best stopping power. -
According to the 2020 Edge brochure (you can find it online) there is a washer for the rear camera, at least for the SE and up models. Here's a copy/paste from the brochure:

Keep watching, a 'lot' of modern cars douse their DRLs when the turn signal comes on, especially when the daytime light is right next to or surrounds the turn bulb. Curiously with my '16 I had to use FORScan to change the code so my DRL 'would' turn off when signaling. This was a self inflicted issue, I'd changed my DRL from the headlight to the high beam bulb (which had been changed to an LED designed to be a DRL) so the blinking signal was pretty much washed out. Now, like yours, signals come on, DRL goes off on that side. If you're still in doubt head to your dealership and have them fire up another new Edge on the lot. It'll do the same trick.

Check the condition of your battery. The dash lighting up like that with multiple errors is typical of a bad or in need of a charge battery. BTW, your Edge probably suffered more than a light bump to deploy airbags. If the driver was belted in that takes a hit into a solid wall/obstruction of more than 15 mph.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
Gadgetjq replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Great, thanks VERY much! I've used center brake modulators for years. I pulled the handle and lower inside panel off of the Edge tailgate but saw no connectors so stopped there. I should have gone for the next panel I guess. BTW the modules I've used allow you to program the flash type, frequency and more. I usually set them for three really fast pulses then three slow then solid on. I set them so the pulsing only repeats if the brake pedal is pressed again 45 seconds or more after being released. That way it's not annoying anyone in stop/go traffic. http://timers.shop/ used to offer these and another module that (like the European versions mentioned earlier) would track the braking rate. Slow easy braking wouldn't produce a flash. Moderate braking would generate a couple of quick strobes and hard braking might make the 3rd brake light give its all. I wrote asking them what happened to that module. They indicate a 'new' version is in the works...stay tuned. Cheers!
