Well there is a difference. Here's one example of filters opened up.
-
What oil filters are you using? Mact did a great job of oil testing, but not oil filters. (unless I missed it). Would really like to see Mact do a write up on this. Currently I'm using Bosh premium because there was a good review of them and used them on my Impala for years, but am considering one for synthetic oil maybe Wix. Wix cost just a little more than Bosh but it's made for synthetic oil. ACDelco has a good rebate right now, so maybe I'll go GM? ? Thanks.

When in for a quick tire rotation on my new to me 2018 AWD 3.5L with 33000 miles on it. While waiting asked the service manager if I should get the antifreeze changed. Nope, you're good till 100k miles. I said it has the internal water pump. He said, yea it's ok till 100k miles.

Wow interesting! Thanks

Not sure where to post this and it could be/hope it's just a fluke. Filled up my 2018 Edge the other day like I always do, put in the gas filler till it clicked off. After driving off, noticed the gauge read 3/4. Oh well I thought I'll just fill it up next time. Must have clicked off early. Ran some errands wasn't paying attention to the gauge. Got home Wife and I went out started it for another short trip and gauge read full. It's been going down normally since. Hope the float didn't get stuck. Anybody else had anything like this? Thanks

Nope, not seeking advice from this dealer. Why not just take the money and do the job? For the hope it'll fail and get a bigger pay day later? Quick tire rotation, I'll be back for that.

Just had my 2018 3.5L in for a tire rotation. It has 33k miles on it and while I was waiting asked the service manager if they recommend the coolant change considering it has an internal water pump. He said no you're good till 100k miles. Same guy who said no to needing the PTU fluid changed.

Jack points and jack stand placements?
flymore replied to Vortechtral's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Ok, thanks that's great I have the lift points and the hockey puck for the jack, How do I lift the vehicle at the lift points then replace the jack with jack stands? The list points don't seem wide enough to allow for both the jack and jack stand. Thanks -

Thanks, I'll try that. What about the rear wheel? -
Jack points and jack stand placements?
flymore replied to Vortechtral's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Ok found the arrows. Took a bit of scrubbing! New problem - I took a piece of 4x4 and cut an indentation in it. But when i jacked up the car using the 4x4 it split the 4x4. Any suggestions on what to use? thanks. -

Gearing up for my first tire rotation on my new to me 2018 Edge AWD Titanium. The owners manual indicates there are "arrows" that show the lift points, "9. The vehicle jacking points are depicted by arrows on the underside of the vehicle at the locations shown above." I'm not finding the arrows that indicate the lift points. The second question is the rotation pattern. The manual clearly states that for FWD and AWD vehicle use this pattern. There is another post that states for AWD vehicles you must use an X pattern where LR to RF and RR to LF. RF to LR and RR to LF. "On four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles, the recommended rotation pattern is a “Double X” so the right front and left rear tires switch positions as do the left front and right rear." https://www.tireindustry.org/tire-maintenance/tire-rotation Thanks for any help. -
Ok, thanks

That's great. Thanks

Just changed the oil in my 2018 Edge AWD. The manual says to rotate the tires when the oil is changed, will this mess up the TPMS? Is there a procedure to reset TPMS after I do the rotation? Thanks

Nope don't live in hilly area, kinda lead to the question cause I generally don't use the parking brake or have need for it. Funny, after I use the electric parking brake the brakes seem to grab better. Thanks
-
Do you set your electric parking brake every time you park your Edge? Does setting the electric parking brake adjust the rear brakes and so this is something you should do? Or does using the parking brake all the time lead to premature rear brake wear? Thanks

Did you purchase your 2013 Edge new? Have you changed the fluid in your PTU during the time you've had the Edge?
-
The touch and release, doesn't always work...So with my Edge it's more of a hold and release. I'll look for the advanced option and try that when i get a little more familiar with the system. thanks

Ok, I'll try just having her change the temp. I noticed that if I change the temp on my side, it changed both sides. I'll have her try it. Thanks

No I don't mean cruise is "engaged" when you start the car. My Chevy had a switch for cruise you left it on, it was ON when you started the car then when the car was moving you press SET to engage it. With the Edge you always have to turn it on then press SET. Turn it on then press set. Turn it on then press set. With Chevy it's on so you just press set. Just press set at the speed you want above 25mph. Just press set at the speed you want above 25mph. With my Edge it doesn't remember that I left DUAL on so I can have different temperature than the passenger side. Every time I turn the car on I have to set DUAL and turn on cruise control. Start the car set DUAL in climate and turn on cruise control. Start the car set DUAL in climate and turn on cruise control. I'm now using the buttons on the right hand of the wheel to navigate to source, but it's several steps and I sometimes have to take my eyes off the road.
-
With the climate control I have to go in menus and turn on DUAL, so my wife can have a different temperature on her side of the car than mine. Would like to have DUAL on by default, there is no safety issue here with DUAL climate. I don't see the risk with leaving the cruise on, it doesn't engage unless you press SET and the car is moving over 25mph. So how is having the cruise off safer? Yes I can change the source with a voice command, I have to hold down the voice command button, wait for it to stop speaking then say what source I want and sometimes it doesn't understand me. A simple button would save time.
-
Three annoyances, 1. No source button. Using the menu or keypad distracts you from driving. 2. You have to turn the cruise on every single time you start the car. My previous car had a button that locked in the on setting. 3. Dual climate control has to be chosen every time you start the car - why doesn't it just leave dual climate on!

I'm enjoying my Edge, but one thing I really miss from my Chevy is the source button on the steering wheel. The source button allowed me to switch from AM, FM, CD, Siris XM and alternate input. The only way to switch sources is to activate the voice command or take my hand from the wheel and eyes off the road? This is a bit annoying with other people in the car and you're talking to them.
