  1. 2017 Titanium, FWD. Been tracking down an annoying squeak behind the passenger seats. First thought it was the styrofoam inserts in the spare tire compartment. They do squeak from time to time. I used some foam strips on the cargo area cover. Think that solved that one. But there is a definite, different squeak coming from inside the liftgate itself. If I open the liftgate and shake it just a bit, the noise is right there; inside the interior panel. That brings me to: how do you get that interior panel off? I've looked for vids. Can't find any specific to the 2015-2018 Edge. Anyone got a vid, instructions, etc they'd care to share? Sure would like to take a look inside that panel, see what is going on. It's on the passenger side of the door. Would that be the "right" side?
  2. Thank you. I will check those out. Digital doesn't bother me, at all.
  3. Maybe a silly question, but could someone recommend a reliable pressure gauge to keep in the car? We have several "sticks" and one dial. They all read different ?. They can vary as much as 10psi.
  4. I peeked inside one of those yesterday. Oh my!! Pics?
  5. Love dogs. Love the pics of these dogs. But No, not in my Edge. My 185 lb Wolfhound had her own vehicle. One we used just for her - a 2001 Explorer Sport. Someone in the family left it open in the rain, and the snow, and the .... it filled up every crack with water. And is molded. Pure trash car now. Just waiting on a decent salvage offer. So, the "offender" gets to transport the IW in her 2005 Explorer. I did haul her (uh, the dog) around in my Volvo XC60. But not in my Edge ?
  6. Just mentioning this because it's been a WTF experience, along with a WOW experience. All at the same dealership in Harrisonville, MO. I'll try to keep it short enough to read. Wife and I looking for a new vehicle, decided on a used Edge. Found one at a dealership just down the road a piece. Took it out for a test drive. Drove well, ran well, all was well except for a rattle under the passenger side. We mentioned that to the shyster, uh, salesman. He swears up and down it's just the temp tag, they should have bolted it on better, he sees that all the time. We said probably not. He said he'd have it checked out. About an hour later he comes back with "it was a pan underneath the engine they didn't tighten up when they changed the oil. All is well, now". We took it around again, didn't hear it and went with the deal. Oh, except, where's the 2nd key - oh, sometimes they don't have one. Oh, yes they do! Thats when I stopped with the shys, uh salesman. Hit up the floor manager. He promised to: get us the 2nd key, get a license plate bracket for the front (he offered, I didn't ask), code for the keyless entry, tuck a piece of carpet, even off tire inflation. Hey, it's used. The next day we hear the same rattle on the driver's side. That's when I joined the forum to look that up. Turns out annoying, but easy fix. Checking the driver's side I could see the clips needed a spacer. Hmmm, well, wonder how they fixed the passenger side? WTF (see, it's that moment), they TOOK THE DEFLECTOR OFF!!! Yeah, that was the fix. That prompted a call to the floor manager and a trip down. That's actually when I mentioned the entry code, tire inflation, and re-insisted on the 2nd key. To his credit he'd already gone to the garage to talk about the missing deflector with them. The tech says he told the shys, uh salesman about pulling it. The manager ensured they'd ordered a new one. Today, they installed the new deflector and everything promised. I am completely satisfied with how he stood up and took care of me and the issues. I will never never ever!! deal with that shys, uh salesman again. I like the service manager, and I like the floor manager. I do not like being lied to as if I were some friggin' idiot. And I do not like that shyster, of a salesman. He was slimy from minute one. Begs the question: WHY? (or why we dealt with him anyway). Honesty rules. We completed the license transfer today which involved yet another trip to the dealership. Have a free oil change in 5k or so. Then ... we'll see.
  7. I just did the e-wire hack on the driver's side deflector panel last night. Worked like a charm. And if/when these work loose I'll go with the rubber grommet hack. This time, it was cold outside, cold in the garage, and cold hands. Just happy to have that noise abated for now. Now, on the passenger side the dealer resolved the issue by taking the deflector off!!! Seriously, they did. They're buying me a new one. Imagine I'll have to hack that one, too, eventually. Thanks for the video.
  8. ? Holy cr@p!!! Thanks for the link. Think for now, I'll wait.
  9. 2017 Edge Titanium, Sync 3 v3.0. What version of the nav software should I be on? It currently shows NA 1 1.5 Just wondering if there is a more current version. And how to get it.
  10. I was looking at this one. Although I could see how that tape might not hold forever on cold concrete.
  11. Hey Jon, Just braims storming here, but my guess is using the aftermarket fob twice is triggering something inside the vehicle's anti-theft. It's thinks someone is attempting to steal the car. Might ask the dealer/installer about that. In the meantime ... just how far away do you need to start your car? ? 1000 feet is longer than 3 football fields. That's a long walk. Car ought to be plenty warm or cold by the time you got there, for sure.
  12. Well, I had tinting put on the front headlights yesterday. Was in looking at getting some film applied to the front windows for heat reduction (black interior). Mentioned the headlights. The place wasn't busy, wanted some work on a wet Saturday morning. And offered a good discount on the headlight film. So I bit.
  13. My Dad did that for my Mom. Think she still hit the freezer a few times. ? The floor plates I've looked all seem to have sort of sticky tape on them. Guess that is supposed to assist keeping them in place.
  14. Really? Wax the lenses? I've never done that. Worth a shot. Turtle wax? Or something special?
  15. Did a search, didn't find much, well, really, none. Probably not searching the best keywords. Since I just recently picked up my '17 Titanium, I'm still sort of obsessing with the "what can I do to it" syndrome. And to that end - is there a consensus (right!) on tinting headlight lenses? Not trying to jazz it up, per se`. But more of a protection against yellowing, etc. I can't stand (my) headlights with any sort of haze or yellowing. The lens are quite clear and bright on the car at the moment. I'd like to try and keep them that way. Thought perhaps one of the clear lens films might work. Looking for pros/cons. Thanks.
  16. That's the one. But it says not for powered lift gates. And it clears on yours? What year/config is your Edge?
  17. I was actually hoping to find one that went over the "edge" - ha! I've seen the Ford OEM. I take it that is what you and ezndo have. I'll keep that one in mind, as well. Thanks.
  18. Have thought of those for the home. Just sort of spaced on them. Will do some searching and see if we have them locally. Thanks for the idea!
  19. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll google up some and take a look.
  20. 2017 Edge Titanium. Has a power liftgate. For some reason that seems to restrict some of the available vinyl/rubber/carbon protectors for the rear bumper. Anyone have a suggestion, or example, or something that works to protect the top of the rear bumper? We load lots of music gear (amps, guitars, speakers, etc) in and out. Would love to put something on it to protect it against even more scratches. Suggestions?
  21. Well, darn it. And, hey, that might work. ? That little delay gives me enough time to view if I'm totally in the garage or not. Might be a usable workaround. Thanks.
  22. Hi. New to the forum and my '17 Titanium. My former vehicle had a way to turn on the rear camera, when you weren't moving of course. Is there a way to turn on the Edge's rear camera without putting it in Reverse? I don't see a camera "button" anywhere on the dash. I like to use the camera to ensure I've pulled far enough inside the garage ?. Not looking to engage while moving forward or anything like that. Would just like to turn it on manually for viewing behind me when in Park vs only in Reverse.
  23. Hi. I joined specifically to say Thank You for this thread. Just picked up a 2017 Edge Titanium mid-November. Had the noise on the passenger side. Told the dealer before we drove it off the lot, they said he fixed it (that's a whole 'other story). Then yesterday the same noise started on the driver's side. Looking underneath, sure enough it's the felt cover rattling like a son of a gun. Taking it back to the dealer to give them a chance to fix that side; hopefully not like they "fixed" they passenger side. Anyway, thanks for the detailed description of the issue. Mikula seems to have a good solution. Thanks for the video Might even try 1004ron's idea if the dealer doesn't fix it.
