I like the chrome bling... I think its bit funky to be pimped out..even if its chrome clad. Im guessing real chrome would be heavier and more costly... The question really becomes if it was real chrome and it was $2000 option.. would you buy? I'll take my chrome clad for $750 - not so much to worry about if something happens... Some will the same thing for the NAV unit that cost a whopping $2300 - but I love it... and I love that its factory installed - and a touch screen radio/cd tuner. Actually.. there is nothing I don't like about my Edge...

Tons of modifications did happen to the Edge up to Jan 2007. This can include change headrest design for 5 star test crashing to less reflective dash trim and other technical issues. Well - there are all kind of priority rules with dealerships... perhaps someone else can explain the delay from May to June. I waited 6 weeks for my edge - ordered and serialized within 3 days. Sometimes its the build date cycle - meaning your particular type of Edge may have had to be moved into another build cycle. Perhaps one of the boys at OAC can explain better. Good Luck

Its just all that Edge excitement building for you... I did notice the boys at blueoval got you rail car numbers. That was cool of them. Enjoy when it arrives - my Edge has exceeded all my expectations... I love to drive it.

It does roll.. but if you firmly engage the brake pedal while setting to park - it rolls much less.. So.. its manageable - just got to slow down a bit.... Getting out my Edge is like a procedure... firmly engage brake, set to park, turn engine off (so not to waste gas) hit button to close massive sun roof, hit button to close sun shades,,,, Then remove key... whewww.... I have learned not to rush out of Edge.. I leisurely enjoy it now...

I picked up the Ford Cargo liner - its like a tray inside the cargo - not stuck down to anything - easy to lift and shake out.

A white is added for 2008 - "white sand" - go to ford.com/fleet - search 2008 edge As for mileage - not bad - im getting the stated rates here in Canada..

Creme brulee - its pops nicely agn the black tinted windows and chrome... Its very rich creamy colour - reflecting the silky strong lines of the Edge..

I find if you firmly hold the brake pedal while placing into park - it does not roll as much. I rarely ever use my emergency brake - only on an incline.

Could be your computer motherboard.... my former toyota did not shut down.. but I had engine light come on in first 300kms (180 miles) - scared the crap out of me. Techs said same - reset it - came back at 3000kms - replaced carbon filter in catalytic converter - came back at 10,000 - then they wanted to disassemble my fuel line... I said no way.. Im calling head office - I think its the computer. Toyota investigated - and whole computer was replaced - never happened again.. at least a $3000Cdn warranty job. I repeat the story often - just to point out Toyota aint perfect either - but they did handle it beautifully as did the dealership I hope Ford will do the same for you. Fingers crossed - Hope it doesn't happen again.

Charcoal interior - so the dash is practically black - Pics in the gallery if you want to see them I know the side vents are matte, but my centre vents are still chrome. The upper semi circle is an outer ring of charcoal, inner ring of matte silver, and then the tray. PS - I added a couple of pics of the interior.. you can see the dash colours clearly... Hope it helps...

I just want you to know.. that my Edge DOES NOT have this problem... My Edge was produced in April 2007 - so... unfortunately.. yours must be an early model. My side vents are matte silver, my center dash trim is matte aluminum; the top trays are dark charcoal to match the dash with a matte silver trim and the black tray inside. I drive in the sun in the AM.... and its at my back in the evening I drove home tonight paying particular attention to the glare - yes you can see the reflection but in no way does it distract me or my line of vision. I suggest you visit your dealer and have a pleasant discussion about possible solutions - its all in your approach... Good Luck

Mine is AWD - I love it.... corners on a dime.... very nice feel. Always drove FWD before... but I think from now on.. I will always get AWD.

I think if you go to Ford.com - look under Fleet - they have colours for the 2008 Edge. The white was added - and my brother works at the plant - so its a go The creme brulee is ivory - a very creamy colour . I love my Edge - its an awesome drive - no regrets at all.

Are you sure you sat in a recent production car? My shiny trims ends before it travels up onto the dash - then its a dull silver colour that wraps around the top. I have charcoal interior and no glare issue whatsoever... Check out another dealership vehicle. I find that odd...

For 2008 - called White Sand (triple coat). I have the creme brulee - and people have raved about the colour when they see it. I love it

Funny question - did you change gas supplier? This week I put a different type in - and hmm.. ticker moving up? Coincidence? I don't know. The under 2000rpm thing - seeems to be true to me - really pay attention to your accelerations - esp in the city - A/C on? Did you reset your computer? It also could be a puter malfunction? With my 2001 toyota i had 3 engine lights within 10,000kms - dealer wanted to dismantle my fuel line - I stopped them - called Toyota and OH.. bad computer motherboard....whole things replaced If it keeps up - take back to dealer for inspection.... - you never know
