  1. One of us (!) left the dashcam on while our Edge sat unused for two weeks. In that amount of time, the battery (less than a year old) drained completely, so completely that the instrument panel wouldn't light, couldn't move the gear shift out of park, etc. Dead dead dead. A jump starter just made the starter solenoid click, wouldn't crank. A long overnight charge resuscitated the battery, everything's worked fine for a few weeks now, EXCEPT: the A/C turns on automatically on engine start about 75% of the time, that's after I've made absolutely certain to turn it off before killing the engine. Is that as weird as it seems to me? Or am I so unaware that it's done it all its life and I just haven't noticed?? Thanks for any help, Jim
  2. Thanks for that feedback. Am I right that the speed sensors are partially hidden beneath plastic panels that are easily removed? I got the battery replaced (it was under warranty from Wal-Mart), the ride home didn't clear the AdvanceTrac warning but I'm going to give it a couple days before running FORScan on it again.
  3. Thanks for the replies. As soon as I've replaced the battery and driven the Edge around a while, I'll update my post. Jim
  4. It's interesting you ask that. The vehicle sat idle for a couple of months. After that, the first few trips yielded a message like "Charging System Problem" (or words to that effect), and a similar message when turning the engine off and removing the key. Since then there's been no (obvious) issue, other than perhaps a very slightly longer crank time. I'd pretty much put that out of my mind. Do you mention that based only on the log output, or do you have reason to believe a low battery could induce the AdvanceTrac warning? In any case, thanks for the reply. Jim EDIT: Oops, I didn't answer your question: the battery's a couple of years old. I'd be pleased if something that simple was the fix, as it's a little worrisome to my wife (while the fleetingness (?) of the issue makes it seem not so urgent to me).
  5. Good day, all. My 2011 Edge sometimes (say, every fourth or fifth time I crank it) generates a "Service AdvanceTrac" message (with the ABS and Traction Control idiot lights remaining lit after I dismiss the warning). The first time it happened, I used FORScan to look around and to clear the error (log file attached). The ABS/Traction Control indicators frequently spontaneously clear themselves during a short trip, and in any case everything 'feels' fine. In my ignorance I'm tempted to believe that means there's simply a loose connection somewhere, but I don't know where I should be looking. Any suggestions welcome. Jim fff.txt
