RDS on the instrument panel right screen?
redden18 replied to omar302's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
I tested with changed region - no effect, still no RDS on IPC. Mine shows DTE in the box along with telltale. More likely, we have identical ACM and IPC, but firmware might be slightly different -

RDS on the instrument panel right screen?
redden18 replied to omar302's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
I've enabled Nav-in-motion changing region to 5753, I'll do some testing changing it back to Canada's and report it back. My 12 Explorer with SYNC 2 has nav-in-motion enabled and yet RDS is there. SYNC 2 and SYNC 3 are different beasts though. -
RDS on the instrument panel right screen?
redden18 replied to omar302's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
RDS is on in the settings and it does display info on the main unit, but not on IPC screen. I know its working for sure, because mine '12 Explorer with SYNC 2 displays RDS just fine on right IPC screen. -

Hi, have you got it working? Mine 2018 Edge was showing RDS there up until some point and then, well it doesnt work anymore! I dont know what was it related to , either to SYNC 3 update, which is unlikely or maybe to some Forscan mods I've done... -

Post Autoinstall.lst content here, maybe there was a chance you installed the version for non-nav system which doesnt have navigation package -

How much is that kit?

Not many changes, basically bug fixes, maybe few new features.

First of all, I'm not forcing anyone to install it. Second, it is not a bootleg copy, but fully legitimate copy of software which Ford is installing on MY19+ vehicles. The way we installing it is not completely legitimate though, but as I said nobody is forced. Nice bonus of that is having latest maps available for SYNC 3 system for vehicles older than MY18 as Ford did not offered free maps udate for those vehicles which is a bummer!

Here is everithing you need to upgrade from 3.0 to 3.4 as well as get new maps 1.18. If you have 3.2 and higher the only thing is needed is step 3 https://www.f150forum.com/f118/upgrade-sync-3-v3-0-v3-4-instructions-458828/

file Autoinstall.lst contains that info: ; SYNC3 Consumer Assembly Upgrade - Release 3.0.21 - Only for Nav/NA assemblies. Remote Windows
redden18 replied to seanmarshall's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
As been said, on Edge you can do front windows ONLY! Unless you equip your rear windows with one touch up/down. -
Thank you for your interest in a navigation update for your SYNC 3 system. You currently have the most recent map update available. The first map update is expected to be available approximately September 2019. Please check back later. Thank you

RDS on the instrument panel right screen?

Mine 2018 shows RDS on right IPC screen -
You will be getting max out of Edge with an RS badge... and manual tranny... and 2.7EB tuned to 460hp (which is quite possible considering 2.3l EB Focus RS with M400 Mountune delivers 394bhp). My point is that an ST badge it is not even tuned at all. Take 2.0l EB, it delivers 255hp thus 127.5hp per litre of displacement. 127.5hp times 2.7l gives us 344hp while Edge ST is only tuned to 335hp which means it is heavily underperforming, same with 3.5l EB in Explorer delivering just 365hp - underperformer as well... (127.5hp times 3.5l gives 446hp). Should admit though Mountune is quite costly and probably it is advisable to upgrade to Audi... :))). "To achieve 394bhp, M400 Mountune adds a high-flow induction kit, an uprated re-circulating valve, a large-capacity intercooler, a high-flow charge pipe, a three-inch exhaust downpipe with 200-cell sport catalytic converter, a three-inch exhaust system from the cat backwards and a remap of the ECU. Ford claims the standard Focus RS can reach 62mph from a standstill in just 4.7sec. We’ve actually achieved the same time when launching the RS to just 60mph, too. The M400, however, is significantly quicker completing the 0-60mph dash in just 4.2sec."

Listed values mostly mean nothing, test drive under real conditions is needed. Meanwhile, Audi is a premium segment, while Ford is a mass product. Do that premium one needs to pay for Audi costs that 1 second, that is another question and up to personal preference. Moreover, Audi A7 uses DSG while Ford Edge ST just standard automatic and Audi's Quattro is hard to beat...

I know it is an old post, but... I'm not sure if Explorer's MY11 Sony system is equal to Edge's MY18 one (on a speaker side), but I noticed that Edge's one is weaker in terms of bass (at least). My '11 Explorer has pretty stong bass at neutral setting is equilazer, countrary in '18 Edge it is set at maximum and still doesn't sound as strong as in Explorer.

[rant warning] ST options in Canada. WTF are you thinking, Ford?

Not possible for a long time. I agree, Ford's packages are ridiculous, but still better than japanese or korean where there are only few trim levels available and anything extra can't be ordered... -
I just did LED conversion for both low and high beam. I went with these bulbs: Low beam - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B017M57NAU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 High beam - https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B017M57DJG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Paid $157 CAD for both sets. Both packaging and build quality seem to be great. Installation was easy for driver side since there is nothing in the way, passenger side was ok to replace high beam bulb, low beam was a bummer since there is coolant tank in the way, snapping bulb in is almost impossible without taking out the headlight. High beam bulbs had to turn connector 180deg. Fans are bit noisy and can be heard when engine is not running (outside only, not in the cabin) As for LED low beam I dont see any big difference in how far I can see, since it doesnt depend on the bulb but on the projector (if we were dealing with reflector then it would be a difference). LED is slightly brighter and absolutely white colour. Halogen visibility on the wet road was extremely bad since I couldnt see pretty much anything and I yet have to test how LED do perform on a wet road. As for LED high beam there is a HUGE difference in visibility, halogen wasnt doing much in there, but LED is just super bright and lighting road far away. So far I have no any issues with them after installation, no flickering, no bulb errors on dash (both, low and high beam bulbs are 35W). They perfectly fit inside the headlight housing with dust caps back in its place. Will be keeping an eye on them in terms of heating issues.
