I hear ya. Please let us know when you do. Also, thanks for taking the time to post the wiring pics, they've been helpful. I found these on Mouser, I think they're right. https://www.mouser.ca/ProductDetail/TE-Connectivity/638652-1?qs=%2Fha2pyFadui2mGEBvKKJIcICVfnS7sMTNPFPguObWu9Xn2CmfPKVtA==&tetid=CXCzSSuLCT edit: After a 10 minute call to TE Connectivity a lovely CSR named Ginny was kind enough to provide me with the part number of the Molex pins: 33012-2002. The pins needed for the 2.8 and 6.3 mm sockets are Delphi: 139 799 33 for the 2.8mm and 155 433 16 for the 6.3 mm. Now I'm off to order some parts!

Bumping this as I am planning on running Diode Dynamics Stage Series 6" light bars as fog lamps and want to use the factory wiring and Forscan to do it on my wife's 17 SEL. Have you had any luck with the pins? Also, recommendations on which light switch control to order to maintain the stock look?

Broken cargo flip clips
Coolpooler replied to Coolpooler's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
Thank you for the link! I just about blew a gasket when the parts guy told me that they weren't available and the "replacement panel " was $600 CAD a side! I shall be ordering forthwith! You rock! -
So I went to pull the cargo cover closed on Saturday and somehow managed to snap both clips holding the cargo net in place (The upper clips that flip closed when not in use). I'm posting this more as a warning to prevent others from doing the same. It seems like a stupid setup to me that they interfere with opening and closing the shade; even if they reversed the track so the pins feed from the top and slide downward it wouldn't be an issue. I'm sending pics to Ford in the blind hope that they will fix this on future models although I'm not holding my breath... Pics for your amusement at my stupidity and raw power...

From the album: Sunroof Stuff
Label for my replacement Vista roof front panel. -
<sigh> So my $1465 quote turned into $1542.15 with freight (The joys of living 3 hours from the nearest major city) so including GST $1619.26, still cheaper than the dealer by about $100+... It was the Rev C glass and I followed MACT's video linked above (Many thanks to MACT for taking the time to make it and roots57 for posting it in this thread). I had the old glass off and the new one in, functioned and cleaned in 45 minutes. A few points to add for the install: I didn't bother taking the -ve terminal off so I didn't reinitialize the sunroof, and I was careful not to move the guides more than absolutely necessary. The front bolts are a combo Torx25/ 8mm hex so when I re-installed them I held them in the 8mm socket on a short extension with a bit of masking tape wrapped around the end to get them started and avoid the hassle of fishing them out as in the vid. If you have an LED headlight it is super handy to give you light in the recesses of the bolt holes and made lining everything up trivial. Since I have the old glass now easily accessible I will be taking some close up pics of the crack and the "impact" point and forward those results to Ford Canada and see if I get any satisfaction from them; I'm not counting on it though. Vipervenom: I would do the front glass myself but it only adds .4-.6 hrs on the bill so if they have the headliner and all the other stuff out it's really not that much to add overall. You might be able to negotiate a bit and see if that will save the difference.

Update: Got three quotes and it seems I was mistaken. The front glass is a sub-assembly with the frame and not just a pane of glass. The least expensive quotes here were $1465 CAD so it looks like I'll be ordering one and installing a la MACT's video on Youtube. While I'm at it I will give the tracks a good looking over and lubing if necessary (I hope not with only 3600 miles on the clock....). I will keep the original, clean it out and maybe try my hand at building a carbon fibre panel on it.

Panoramic Sunroof Cracked
Coolpooler replied to Sierra's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Yeah, that's my next stop. -
Well, crap. That was my suspicion and explains why the dealer adds close to $1000 labour. Ford is saying that they won't cover it as it was due to an impact, but if it was it was incredibly small, as you can't see it with the naked eye. I believe it let go while we driving home Christmas Day , when the temps were in the low -20s. I'll be taking it to a glass shop for a second opinion. Assuming the worst, I was hoping that I could buy the complete front glass sub-assembly and just bolt it in... Full glass coverage in Alberta adds roughly $200/yr to our insurance and your rates go up after 1 claim so it's essentially useless, except in this case...

Panoramic Sunroof Cracked
Coolpooler replied to Sierra's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
That may be, but if it was an impact it's really, really tiny. I will be using a USB microscope I bought for my wife's classroom to get a closer look and I'll post pics here once I have. Either way, it leaves me with three conclusions: 1) Even a small rock is sufficient to damage the glass, which is really going to suck living in rural Alberta, and leads me to suspect that Ford isn't making the glass strong enough. 2) It is a stress fracture, which I intend to prove, and is a manufacturing defect or, 3) We are just really unlucky and I'm hoping that's not the case since my insurance coverage is limited glass and it'll be out of pocket for me. -
OK, I have the dreaded crack in the front glass of our new Edge's Vista Roof and since Ford Corporate are being dicks and not honoring their warranty I have two questions that I'd like your inestimable help with. I'm thinking of replacing the front glass myself as it looks to be fairly straightforward. Is the part # FT4Z-58500A18-C the complete frame or is it the glass only? The pics on every site I could find wasn't clear and not the actual part itself but a line drawing Is there anything different in removal between the 15-up vs the 2008-up glass? I know the older models could be removed with just 6 bolts, is that the case with the newer version as well? Any other voodoo I should be aware of before I attempt this? OK, three questions...

Panoramic Sunroof Cracked
Coolpooler replied to Sierra's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Ours cracked on the front glass on Christmas Day as we were driving home. No evidence of a rock hitting it and I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if it had. According to Corporate's "pen" and "flashlight" test there is evidence of a potential impact and so will not cover it under warranty. I contend that what they're seeing is a bit of the glass that flaked off as it split under stress/temperature. I'm planning on fighting this with them but I'm also unwilling to drive at highway speeds with a compromised roof. This is my 4th vehicle with a sunroof and our second Edge. To say I'm unimpressed is an understatement. Going through this now, I'd have to say if the Vista roof is this fragile I wouldn't have bought it. -
Hey All, I was here many moons ago and forgot my sign in. This is our second Edge, having a Bronze Metallic 2011 SEL that we traded in for a 2017 SEL Ruby Red. I love these vehicles and hope that I can give some meaningful contributions and/or advice while I'm here. Cheers, CP
