  1. Looks great! Wish I could do that same match, but cops would be all over me here
  2. Thanks! I looked up NHSTA. Unfortunately, it didn't have STB16-0053, yet. I guess it may take some time between Ford issuing a TSB and NHTSA posting it.
  3. So, how does a "non Ford employee" person get a hold of the TSB's that apply to their vehicle? This should be public, maybe not the solution service part but at least the stated issue. And the chances of asking a busy Ford service guy for the TSB's are slim.
  4. It seems you need a subscription on OASIS to get the TSB's. Am I missing something?
  5. Where do you guys get the TSB's from? Most of my Internet sources don'y show 2015
  6. It's actually 150 watts max. Not providing power doesn't seem to be from an overloading situation, so the only other would be an overheating one, especially since it worked for a while. I'm intrigued by what you said "I tried hitting the button up front to enable/disable the port". When you say "up front", what location is that?
  7. Bump... How old was your Edge when you got service on that rattle?
  8. I've been following these 'rattle' threads by curiosity and, bang, I get a rattle starting a few weeks ago. I have less than 10000 km on my 2015 which is 10 months old. How long after initial purchase will a dealer work on rattles under warranty?
  9. The door can actually be almost closed (until the first latch locks in) and no honk. I guess the sensor looks for a totally closed door.
  10. Although the service is available in Canada, it's not part of the 6 month subscription, at least not for me with my 2015.
  11. They work for me too, BUT in my case anyway they take 10 minutes+ to feel warm when remote started, much less if I'm sitting on them, which makes sense.
  12. Sorry to disappoint, but yes. They obviously have the list as they built the new version, why not publish it on their site, even in summarized form? If I saw my city, my province/state mentioned, I might be more inclined to buy. I wonder why they in fact don't publish it... I do have a theory though.
  13. And the issue is I've never seen, as far as I know, what the exact improvements are from one version to the other except for the traditional "... map includes new and expanded coverage in hundreds of cities, counties and metropolitan areas across the 50 United States, Puerto Rico and Canada ...".
  14. In Montreal QC, I see a total of 41 at 3 dealerships.
  15. When my 2011 Edge lease was up, I bought back the vehicle and pocketed over 4k$ CDN net (low mileage). I did not have any 500$ fee (Canada different?) and sold it back privately via an accommodation sale through my dealer, but I gave my sales rep a 200$ bonus for his free work as a future investment. Others have given great advice on buy -vs- lease. The hard thing with leasing is keeping under your allotted mileage, but then you could buy it at end of lease if what they ask is substantial. You mentioned "X price": does that mean you have the "X plan"? If not, then you also have to walk in to your dealer with a "dealer invoice report". And I agree with others: you do one step at a time. Go in with a purchase story, negotiate that to the max, then introduce the trade in and finally mention lease.
  16. You bring up a good point with covered streets & highways. It takes a lot of human computations to figure where the actual road is in extreme conditions: first one to drive on a snow covered road, invisible lane markers, faint curb delineation, flurry blowing, etc. I don't believe Tesla or Google are up to that.
  17. A new report claims Google and Ford are planning a CES announcement on a new joint venture to make self-driving cars. See article here. Ford is stepping up...
  18. P. 78: Note: This autowiper feature is automatically set to on and remains on until you switch it off in the information display. You can also switch the feature back on at any time. See Autowipers (page 78).
  19. I understand your frustration: it reminds me of mine in 2011. But I have to admit, once MFT gets to work, it does so flawlessly. Your experience points to a defective component or else how can thousands of users successfully load 3.8? Keep on the service department's heels: if they don't know what they're doing, then they need to escalate. What really gets me in your story is this. How can a technician hand over to the client a car on which he worked without first checking if things possibly affected after an MFT update still work? I would ask the question.
  20. You will definitely get subjective answers on this one. Personally, I don't do much hill climbing. I find the additional torque of the 2.0EB versus the V6 really makes a difference at low speeds, especially if you set it on 'S'. As for passing at 65-75, that's where the higher HP of the V6 wins. Passing at 65-75 with the 2.0EB is no slouch, but it does take a bit longer, so requires more planning.
  21. I realize it's a sub and that it radiates more freely, but I'm curious how much of a damper that deck is over the speaker. I guess you could put a grill through that deck so the sub breathes more easily?
  22. I believe a Sirius/XM receiver will buffer for a few seconds, so beyond that, no signal no sound. I go through a ¼mile tunnel and I used to check how far in the satellite signal would cut out, and it varies, not by much but it does. Now for yours to cut simply going under an overpass is abnormal from my own experience. On the other hand, I would be surprised the update was the cause.
  23. Canada has had it for about a year now. Look here
  24. I would ask the technician what are the criteria for 'normal'. Are there any specs for this? How did the technician measure that 'normal' temperature? Laser thermometer? It's not because the unit is powered that it works and it's normal. P.S. I'm rehearsing here because I have an appointment on this issue and I've done my homework, with a laser thermometer.
