ST line is just the ST appearance, no performance. ST implies it can go a little fast too.

I've got a video from outside my car, launching on Ice and all 4 wheels spin immediately. I believe getting off the line, the Edge should pull away with 4 wheels drive engaged all the time and then disengage when not needed. If you look at your AWD display it should confirm this. Let me know if you want the vid of the Ice launch

There are a lot of videos on youtube showing axle twister tests in Ford (Escape especially) and the AWD system does pretty good. I have seen tests where it out performs Subaru's assym. setup.

Interesting you should mention that, I've been driving mine in snow and ice a lot and I too have noticed it is pretty tail happy. I just assumed it was the weather but reading this combined with the other thread where the guys are saying it's setup with 2.5 degrees negative camber, I am starting to think Ford tried to get a neutral handling SUV... If the SPORT had a natural tendency to understeer it wouldnt need that 2.5 degrees at the back

My pano roof is currently closed. I am too scared to even tilt it open. I know for a fact it wont slide open currently... I will take it to Ford in spring. I can definitely tell you my next car will NOT have a pano roof.

Yeah, manufacturers are still spending millions of dollars on chassis rigidity but when business comes along and says our customers want a 2m long glass roof that opens, there isnt much they can do. They can strengthen the tub to give it the same kind of rigidity as the normal roof car but would need to add so much weight that it would detract from other areas like performance and fuel consumption.

I must admit, that giant ST badge on the back looks hideous, if I do end up getting one, removing that badge would be priority numero uno!

Irrespective of how those times compare to what the Germans are doing, they are still mighty impressive for what is essentially a family SUV.

Couple of things to note with regards to BMW: - The ZF 8 speed in the beemer is very good and comes with Launch Control - this is porbably one of the biggest reasons why the BMW is so much faster 0-100 - BMW Power - BMW caught a trick from VW when quoting Hp numbers and the B58 platform is very underrated. I will not as my only option would be an Edge ST and no Sport. I want a fast comfortable SUV that is a second car and daily for the wife, not a wannabe trackday 4x4. We will probably move to Lincoln MKX Reserve.
