I have no facts, but from reading about that guy that put Sync3 in his SHO Taurus... it sounded like along with all the parts you mentioned above... even if you could get them all without spending a BUTT LOAD... you would then need programming which of course a dealer could not do as your vehicle profile would not permit it, support it. The Taurus guy pretty much "knew somebody important at Ford, or WAS somebody important at Ford" thus how he was able to get the programming needed for the vehicle integration.
  3. LOL, no way that Sync3 will be an upgrade option for MFT. Your hardware CANNOT support Sync3. Don't fall for this B.S. if you have MFT... there is NO software upgrade that is going to change you to Sync3.
  4. +1 No way any MFT system, even in a 2016 MKX... will be software upgrade-able to Sync3.
  5. I would love to see the same test with your VBox on a 2016 2.7 MKX. What's a VBox cost to get into? If spendy... is there any cheaper alternative that would provide reliable results? I have tried apps on my iPhone... but they are soooo widely variable in the data they spit out that I just don't put much faith in the results.
  6. So I have a MKX on order... actually just got the sticker, so it may be being built as I type. Reading all this is a bit disappointing. As I too thought for sure the MKX should be faster then the Sport based on the numbers. I was not able to drive a 2.7 MKX, but had driven the 2.7 2015 Sport numerous times and loved the performance. So my logic was "if the Sport is this good, the MKX should be just as good or better" again given the numbers advertised. I am going to be bummed if its not doing 0-60 in less then 6s.
  7. Based on the VIN and link provided all of those 2016 MKXs are showing as having Lincoln MyFord Touch not Sync3. On the 2016 MKX sticker it is listed as: Sync w/My Lincoln Touch On the 2016 MKC sticker it is simply listed as: Sync3 Pretty sure any 2016 MKXs we see anytime soon will have MFT not Sync3.
  8. If you look at the mount where the emergency brake is held at the lower front of the dash, there are two bolts that attach that metal bracket. It is just over to the left of the OBD port. Its real close the the fuse panel area and up and out of the way. The two bolts are one above the other. I used the lower one.
  9. As a fully loaded 2012 Limited Owner, when my lease is up... I doubt I will stay with the Edge. This is the thrid one we have owned, had a 2007, 2009 and now the 2012. Have been a Ford Family for 30+ years. If I don't go for the new F150 next year when my lease is up, I will be looking to go Q5 TDI. Odd choice, but I get your reasons. In the long run if you did not end up with significant maitenenace issues with either vehicle, I wonder if you would still think the Edge was the best choice. Of course this would only be fair comparing same year, with same miles. When I bought my 2012 Limited, the Q5 Presitge AWD 4 banger was only about $4K more then the Edge. The Enfotainment in the Edge was a big sway for me. Sadly it has been very buggy and dissapointing how every update fixes one thing and breaks others. If Ford opts to make the new QNX based OS for MFT backward compatible (ya know for those of us that got screwed, buying a $44K vehicle with crappy MFT), maybe they will recover some credibility. Rayo
  10. I have this same issue as do many others. Master Reset does not fix it. And it's hard to believe we all have all of a sudden expereienced bad APIM after the latest software update. For me its not everytime... sometimes it can be the next start, other times it can be a few days. But it will not hold the previous ambient light settings... both color nor brightness. Rayo

  12. So are they these: If so what are the tires? The Scorpion Pirellis? I have a 2012 Limited with the 20"s and after 36K have smoked my originals, would not mind a complete set to do Winter tires. I am near the South Bend, Indiana area. Let me know what you are asking, PM if needed. Raymond

  14. I assume this is wheels only, no rubber? Also are these the 20" Plastic Clad rims? Even though must might know what style they are, photos would make it easier. Rayo
  15. I notice the same kind of anomolies since the udpate. It does not matter what color I change it to, it will not keep it. I can even turn it off, it will come back on. Somethings screwed up with it. Has anyone done a reset with the problem? I have not done one, don't really want to unless that definitley fixes it. Rayo
  16. Thanks for the info. Do you know what the stock color is? Is it 3700K? So I assume you replaced ballast when you went 55W? How hard was that? Was it plug and play? Rayo
  17. I am curious if anyone who has stock HIDs has replaced their bulbs with 5000K or higher and what your thoughts were after the change. I would not mind going a bit whiter on the color, just don't really want to go to 6000K because I think it will start to be blue-ish. Thanks, Rayo
  18. I did the install. Temp is back along with a choice to show it there or not. Everything else seems to work just fine, have not had a ton of time to test. Of course all my presets, phone etc. had to be setup again... no big deal.
  19. My 2012 AWD has never seen better then 20mpg. I drive 60 miles hwy each day for work, easy on the pedal, use cruise. I think it should be better... disappointed.
  20. Did it quick... not great but you should get the idea.
