Painting my dash....over the GLARE!!!
bill0754 replied to wthrower's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Have you considered purchasing a dash topper? I saw one in a 500 and asked where they got it because it was so nice. Looked like suede, and a very high quality and fit. I checked out their website....see if this might be a better solution for you. The site is: http://www.dashtopper.com/shop.net/Home.aspx Check out the suede versions.....really nice! -
Then the chrome cap must be some other metal, as a magnet will stick the wheels on the MKX

TO make you feel better, the MKX has a metal clad alum wheel....the Edge has plastic! I have the MKX...to convince yourself, just try a magnet on the wheel!

Talk to your Service Manager about Lemon Lawing the car and replacing it with another. My brother went through it with a 2005 Mustang....it was a pain, but Ford gave him the credit back on the car, and he replaced it with a 2007 Gt Vert. Good luck!

I would ask to drive another Edge to compare it to. I am sure it is not normal, so have the service manager ride with you to prove that it is not all Edges. If you have difficulties with this dealership, try going to another dealer. I have the MKX, and it is as quiet as can be.

Was the key off? I have had mine go out automatically when I have it in the garage and detailing it with the doors open for awhile

I have the camel interior on my MKX and the only time I really notice the reflection is when I am pulling into my garage. Otherwise it is not really any worse than most cars with light interior colors. As for a dashmat or dashtopper, I saw an edge the other day with one that was really beautiful....it looked like suede. I asked the guy where he got it, and I found the website. If you feel dashmats are ugly, check these out..they are really classy, and if you get a darker shade, will reduce the glare so that you can enjoy your edge better. http://www.dashtopper.com/shop.net/Home.aspx

The lamest Ford Edge Accessory I've Seen
bill0754 replied to Lex Talionis's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I hate to think what the next lame accessory will be!! How about a fake overlay for the stereo, so that everyone will think you got the NAV system? -

I wonder if they will come out with a stick-on BAMR for us guys who couldn't afford the real one!!! -
They will go out automatically after 10 minutes.

I think this one will beat it.....how about a fake, stick on sunroof!!! http://jalopnik.com/cars/oh-yeahhh/a-faux-...sory-291340.php -
Sorry to hear of all your problems. Sounds like your dealer is not sure what the problem is. I have had my MKX over a year, and 9500 miles. Has not gone back to the dealer with any problems...not even a squeak to complain about. Hope they figure your problem out! Good luck!

Edge - DVD Navigation and Rear Entertainment TOGETHER?
bill0754 replied to jack's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I just went on the Ford website to check this out. When you order the DVD Nav system, you must also order the BAMR. So you cannot order the overhead Entertainment system. But, you can get the dealer installed Entertainment headrest system, which is actually much better. Hope this helps. -
One really nice solution is from dashtopper.com They make a dashboard cover in a beautiful suede like material. Another thought is try the Lincoln MKX....we bought the Lincoln with the light interior and there is no reflection on the dash.

Picked Up MKX. :).....question though...
bill0754 replied to btaback's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Must be loose, mine has no movement. And yes, it sure is a smooth quiet car!! Enjoy! -
Hi, I notice a little whinning noise around 40mph in my MKX. On the good front, I am averaging 19.1 in the city and 27.3 on the highway
-
I got the Light Sage/Camel MKX, and absoulutely love the color. It is really elegant, and looks great in the sun as it is a metallic which seems to have dual stage paint job. Always looks clean too!!

Just a suggestion, but we have th MKX with the power hatch, it saves her a lot of stretching. I wonder if your Ford dealer could retro fit the Lincoln unit into your edge. Same car, so it should be possible.

Ford Flex the All New Crossover From Ford

Does look like an older wagon. I wonder if Ford will slap wood paneling on the sides and call it the Flex Squire! -
Comparing Edge/MKX and general thoughts
bill0754 replied to az1324's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
We got the MKX and I LOVE the back....especially at night as the entire width lights up. Makes it easy for other drivers to see. As for interiors, the MKX is all soft touch vs hard plastic. Leather and carpeting is also much higher quality. I priced out the SEL+ vs the MKX and felt the extra cash was well spent. Plus you get an extra year bumper to bumper warranty and a year of free maintanence. -
Here you go....hope it helps. This came on our MKX, I didn't even know what the option was till I looked at one without it. It sure comes in handy for keeping small items.
