Sounds like they are giving you the once over. Can't believe they had the nerve to tell you that you need a new car. You at least should call the better business folks and tell them what happen.

Had the same problem, my wipers would cycle on the lowest setting even when the control was pointing to off. Replaced the switch with one I bought at a Ford dealership for less than it could be bought online, and it solved the problem. Full instruction on how to change the switch can be found online.
