  1. Has anyone done the method found here? http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=3704
  2. I checked them out previously, but they don't have too much other then simply adding on to the existing amp for around $300. This is basically it. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541AP4FD21/PAC-AmpPRO-AP4-FD21-Amplifier-Replacement-Interface.html I'd prefer to bypass that all together so the factory amp can be removed from the vehicle. I will keep looking around to see what I can find. Thanks for the input.
  3. Hello All, I have a 2018 Edge Titanium with the Sony package without navigation. I am looking to upgrade to an aftermarket system. I have been reading a bit online, but it seems a little fuzzy as to what can be done and what can't. It seems that simply adding an amp, speakers and sub isn't just plug and play anymore. I saw there are a few things that can be done using Forscan to get a flat signal from the head unit, but also saw having to modify the DSP in order to get the right frequency's, again its a little fuzzy to me. I'm not opposed to replacing the head unit all together to ease the installation, but also don't want to mess anything up by removing the head unit (not sure what features would be lost if removed). I've also seen a wire harness on the net that simply plugs in to the stock unit and adds an RCA out for an aftermarket amp. The fit and form part I'm not worried about, its the function that I'm in the dark with. Can anyone shed some light on this? Just trying to plan it all out before I'm past the point of no return. Thanks
  4. There is plenty of room for upgrading if someone wanted, the only limiting factor is space from the panel to the frame of the body. Think it was roughly 6" from panel to frame. Still plenty of room. To be honest, I was kind of surprised to see such a small speaker there, considering the size of that grille.
  5. Some mean looking clips and a lot of wasted space. There is a 6.5" speaker there with a large enclosure. Not much else. Here is a link to an example (not mine) https://www.ebay.com/p/2015-2016-2017-Ford-Edge-Right-Rear-Woofer-Sony-Et4t-19a067-ac/11020401340. Couldn't really find a better example.
  6. Hello all, I've been looking into trying a few upgrades for my 2018 Edge 2.0L, but can't seem to find much around for it. I was thinking of modifying the air intake box and replacing it with a large cone filter, but from what I've read, the stock intake is actually pretty good. I've already replaced the stock air filter with a better filter. It looks like Magnaflow has a performance exhaust kit, but not sure if the price is worth it or not. Can't seem to find a "plug n play" type tune for it. Has anyone made any changes worth doing?
  7. The grille is a part of that rear quarter panel...You can't simply just remove it. If you want to get to the backside of it, you have to remove that whole panel, starting by removing the trunk sill first. I just did this a few days ago trying to see what was acutally in there as it's an awfully large grille for the lack of sound it was putting out.
  8. Thanks for the info. Looking at installer.com doesn't show me much other then the $1500 conversion kit. Think I will have to pass on that one. Will have to give crutchfield a call. Thanks again.
  9. Hello all, looking to upgrade my current audio package. I have a basic 2016 Edge SEL, SYNC with the 4.2" screen. I am thinking of modifying the panel to fit a larger after market head unit and remove the current head unit / screen. Does anyone know how intertwined the SYNC system is? I'd hate to remove the OEM part just to find out the rest of the car doesn't work.
