I should have but didn't point out that my music player is hi-res audio (24bit /96k and 192k WAV and FLAC files) Because the Sync 3's usb flash drive doesn't support hi-res audio in digital form I would have to convert songs down in quality. The sync 3 loads every song's metadata into it every time you start the car- my hi res music player holds 128 gig and I own over 4TB of hi res audio-it would take an hour just to load in a 128gig drive's titles if they were on a flash drive... no point in a 20 minute trip. Plus converting thousands of songs downward in quality just to play in the car would take an age and defeat the purpose when all I need is an aux input or a way to trick the USB input to read audio only.

I want to use a portable music player in my 2017 Edge Sport that does not have a USB output, but it has a mini stereo headphone jack. Has anyone found a mini stereo (TRS plug) to usb adapter that the Sync 3 usb input can see? I don't need it to do anything on screen, I just want to hear the analog audio like the usb input was a regular Aux input...
