ran into that on my wifes car. We re-applied 2 coats over the old stuff and then peeled and it came of fine after that

hmmm, mine doesn't let me know until 40 miles. I mean thats plenty of notification, and almost 2 gallons of gas in my case.. but still!
-
Congrats! What's the first thing you're planning to do to it?

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
Mikula replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
I can market them as "valve stem cap protectors" as to not raise any red flags! -
I know i'll get flak for this... But I've used plasti-dip on several of my projects and never had an issue with looks or longevity. $6 a can, and If you don't like it, peel it off. I used it on the forks of my motorcycle 4 years ago and it is still good as new. At that time I also did the speedometer, wheels, primary cover, and coil cover. All lasted until I had them powder coated last year. Forks are still plasti-dip today. Surprisingly resistant to rock chips. Since it worked so well on the bike, I just did my grill on the edge, and I'm biased, but I love it!

If those intercoolers will net me at least 0.2 seconds in the quarter I will probably be in for one... But I will let everyone else test that theory first!!!

Call them and tell them that you're V3 is better than mine... and have them send your tune my way!! Where can I find more information about that. I've read the intellegent AWD as of late is different than the old models.

I'm on this kick of using spent casings for everything now, so in case anyone has some spent .40 S&W laying around, they fit over the valve stems/caps perfectly snug. -
That's very strange. I get much better traction than that. The only time they break loose is from under 10mph. not a hint of squealing or chirping at shifts either. This system is different than the 2012

No, you have to drill out the rivets. -
I'd sure love to drive the 1500 miles to play on a track with negative DA's, but... this damn employment thing is holding me down!

Intercooler Grill & AGS (2016 Sport)

Jim, are they keeping the top two rows of honeycomb solid? I know from your reference pics there is some mounting stuff behind there, just making sure you're having them follow the OEM straight line across the top? -

actually, if you look at the picture of this one on the vehicle, it has the sport body kit, but different foglights (maybe european version or something) but then the picture of just the grill itself, the grill looks different https://www.ebay.com/itm/Front-Bumper-Protect-Plate-Decorative-Lower-Grille-For-Ford-Edge-2-0T-2015-17/182931468627?hash=item2a9790b153:g:W-wAAOSwnTdaHOAc&vxp=mtr so who really knows without trying. I'm not much of a "tryer" but more of a, "hey, potato chips and a recliner" type. -

It most likely wouldn't fit. it doesn't really look the same shape, though listed that it would fit, I'm betting someone has a head up the backside. I've got a message into them to see if they have the overall dimensions, but again, slim chance of it being correct. probably going the CNC route, even though bang for buck is a bit iffy... my OCD is killing me with it being off center, so I'll probably pay just to have the looks! -

I'd like to get in on the deal, but buying a 2nd one, just so I don't have to have my bumper off for a few weeks doesn't seem very cost effective (or so my wife thinks) I may just buy some universal grill mesh and work my magic. probably cut out what I need to on the stock one, and lay a new one over the top https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honeycomb-Black-ABS-Plastic-Vent-Car-Tuning-Universal-Grill-Mesh/162752851565?hash=item25e4d36e6d:g:aN4AAOSwK~RaCk6U&vxp=mtr or the one that looks more open like fords original design: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Honeycomb-Hexagon-Mesh-ABS-Grille-Fog-Custom-DIY-Kit-43-x15-for-FORD-Car/263311717956?fits=Make%3AFord%7CModel%3AEdge&hash=item3d4e99f644:g:FwIAAOSw3s1aBBQT&vxp=mtr -
what in the actual hell did you just say? in english for us slow people

Not in this case (pun intended). there would be no way to mount them that I can think of. They stick out that far simply because there is a nut inside the head butted up to the web. That is the shortest I could possibly get them. Other option would be for me to cut the case down to the rim, and then simply glue it to the head of a push pin or something of the sort. but then it would simply look like a button from far away, as you'd lose the extractor groove in the cutting process to get it so short.

Just a heads up to some of you out there. I had LMS tune the grill and intercooler shutters to stay fully open 100% of the time. This has caused me a loss in fuel mileage of 1.3mpg It is directly attributed to those shutters being open, as I have changed nothing else with the vehicle. I didn't actually believe fords claim when they said they increase fuel mileage but apparently, if you have engineers working diligently and millions of dollars to test stuff... sometimes you get things right! -
I've got the window sticker in the glovebox still. vin and everything matches. may have been a misprint because the 400a would make perfect sense. bastards! though I didn't care what package this car came with. I've never owned a new vehicle and hated the idea of bells and whistles anyhow. I bought it over the phone without even looking at it. I made the casings, and I just went to a local tint shop that did wraps and decals and had her make me a few different ones.
-
what i see on the ford website is that a lot of those features have an asterisk next to them. there is the standard equipment that comes with the 401a package... then there are add-ons to the 401a. if that makes sense. I've got heated front seats, BLIS, cross traffic alert, adaptive steering, dimming mirror, 110 power outlet, power tilt/telescoping wheel. that's about where the package ends. I do not have: lane keep system, park assist, front camera, HID lights, rain sensing wipers, heated outboard rear seats, cooled seats. My window sticker from the dealer lists 401a package... so it seems i don't have many of the add ons. which could explain the amazing price I paid for this thing!
-
They seem to kind of word things funny in the packages. I thought I was getting heated and cooled seats as well as HID's with the 401a package. NOPE! just heated seats.. and in Texas.. we don't need that nonsense!
