  1. did the tips actually help with sound? I don't have a before/after for obvious reasons, but just curious in your case.
  2. I'm pretty sure the guys at unleashed have the shutters tuned out so they stay open all the time as well. GT500 told me this and said I should mention it to livernois, which they finally did it for me. A little late, in your case.. but for others that are wondering.
  3. First run was a 13.77 @ 99.65, after the sun went down some, pulled off a 13.12 @103.5 with a 1.92 60ft at little river dragway this evening. New PB for me. Finally got my 60' under 2 seconds. tried a different theory on tire pressure: AWD 26psi front tires 38psi rear tires to reduce rolling resistance
  4. I wouldn't be able to give you the best answer 0-60 as i've never monitored it. my 330' times were about the same v2 or v3, but by the 1/8 mile I was losing steam. 1/4 mile, forget it, v3 was worthless for me. Today was the 1st time I got to test out their 100 octane tune (v3). Fairly cool evening here in texas at 68* when I made my 2nd pass. 13.12 @ 103.57
  5. I disagree with most of the guys here about the H&R ride. I didn't think it was any softer on normal roads. It is definitely firmer all the way around. When my brother came to town (never riding in it before) the first thing he said was, "kind of a harsh ride isn't it?". He didn't know I lowered it, so that tells you something. For handling it is great. for looks, I was initially unimpressed, but once they settled in I definitely love them. Also there have been instances of rear strut failure, and seems to be directly related to the springs being installed. Though if you are mechanically inclined, they are about $60 to replace them in your driveway in less than an hour.
  6. v3, but truthfully I prefer the v2 at the track. The v3 tune is a great tune in ideal conditions... at the track, it pulls a lot of timing on the top end and my 1/4 mile times were slower because of it. If the weather at the track is a cool evening and you're running high octane (100) it may be better. anyways, it is available with v3 or v2 tunes, as I have both on my tuner
  7. Didn't you hear? You aren't allowed to install summer tires until people have their swimming pools open in Canada. Climate change, you know?
  8. That doesn't make me feel much better about the straight through mufflers i'm going to weld on. That is EXACTLY what I'm experiencing. I didn't realize you weren't running the stock suitcase muffler back there. My drive to work is on a toll road in texas where the speed limit is 85. That puts my rpm right in the poop zone! 22 miles on that stretch at 7am is miserable on my ears. Around town it doesn't bother me, as like you said, downshifting works to get out of it. anything up a slight hill... yuck.
  9. For anyone ever interested in sound deadening, I wouldn't do anything else except from the guy at Sound Deadener Showdown. Easily the best stuff on the market by far. It turned a fox body mustang drag car into a silent death trap. Pretty amazed at what that stuff can do. I've only had bad experiences with flowmaster and drone. this is my first poor experience with magnaflow drone, but also my first experience with straight pipes from a resonator...which is where I'm putting the blame. The harmonics of those 2.5" tubes are just plain bad.
  10. Oh, and get out of the wheels and tires thread!
  11. before you cut anything just hold on a dang second! You can (probably for cheap at an exhaust shop) just add an additional bit of pipe to the tailpipe that comes out of the muffler. that will push them out as little or as much as you'd like. just adding a 3/4 inch splice to the current set-up will be better in the long run (IMO) in case you decide to go back to stock!
  12. This set-up on any of the other 2.7 ecoboost would be amazing. under the f-150 you wouldn't hear the drone, and I would imagine in the fusion sport the drone would die off in the trunk and maybe rear seat. Because the edge has such a wide open area in the back it's just a bunch of hum and reverb kicking around. I've got magnaflow 10416's on order, so hopefully I'll get to welding those in this weekend and get more videos for you guys.
  13. I will get an interior video soon and try posting it I have a resonator right up against the flex pipes currently... it doesn't do squat!!!
  14. Nick I wish I had the patience or skill to do that kind of stuff. Black vehicles are tough to keep looking amazing, seems you're doing a great job of it. That is a lot of steps on a vehicle this size, but looks well worth it!
  15. Are the mufflers from MRT a through design? as in, can you see straight through them, or are they some sort of chambered set-up? I just installed a custom exhaust on mine and I'm looking for a straight thru design that will cut out some of the drone I'm experiencing since I only have a resonator (no muffler in the rear). I posted a video on this thread as well: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/23972-custom-exhaust-on-my-sport/
  16. Here is a video of a few pulls. The money shot is at about 17 seconds. The booty shot. Nice low growl, smooth, not overbearing, still a V6 but impressive nonetheless!
  17. Well after driving it to and from work today, here is my 2nd day verdict. Same as day 1. It is just absurd in-cabin. so I let my wife drive it while I took her vehicle to see how it sounded on the road. I love it. Seriously, I'm really torn, because driving next to it is not like "what is this ricer doing", it is smooth, mellow, but you know it has some exhaust work. When she stomped on it and it dropped a gear, I was again really impressed by the sound. BUT, you have to do what is good for you, not everyone else... So I'm most likely going to add some Magnaflow 10416 Round straight through mufflers in the back and see if it tightens up the purr at cruising speeds. Sure don't think it'll hurt any of the flow being a through design, and the packing might absorb that low hum. I don't have one of those fancy cameras, so I had my wife stand outside the car at different distances to try and accomplish the same thing. I will post that video in a bit here, once she edits it on her fancy apple product that I don't know how to use! Nick, the tips do not stick out much past the bumper. I had originally wanted them to stick out 1-1.5" out of the bumper. Well after mocking it up, they looked good from behind, but awful from all other angles. The reason being, after removing the bezel, you can see the tips from the front of the vehicle. The bezels wrap further around the side than you realize until you have a shiny new exhaust hanging out back there. Here is a side pic for a visual From the top birds eye view, you can see they are tucked under there pretty good, which I originally didn't want, but I'm really happy the way they look now that they are there As for larger tips fitting, I think you can squeeze larger under there. My only thought would be that they might hang lower than the bumper. here is a few pics with a tape measure for some reference. And here is a rear pic of her new butt cheeks As far as how low they sit out of the bottom.. I probably could have tucked them under a bit closer to the rear differential, but wasn't sure how much flex there would be when I was done. If I did it again, I would put them 1/2" from the differential, because there is VERY LITTLE flex with only the 2 exhaust hangers per side. Here is a few under shots:
