  1. I think this photo does a better job of showing the drain at the very bottom of the finned PTU, pointing down.

  3. I have not seen a photo of the PTU on the Sport so I don't know how it differs from mine. This drain is on the bottom of the PTU at it's lowest point pointing down to the ground. Do you have a photo of the Sport version? In looking at this image again I can see why you thought it was not at the low point, it appears to be on the side in this photo but it is on the bottom, my camera is pointed up and to the right slightly as I lay on the ground.
  4. I crawled under my 2016 EDGE Titanium 2.0L AWD to have a look at the PTU. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my PTU has a drain. I was not happy to find that the PTU was leaking where the passanger side drive shaft exits the PTU. This EDGE was 1 year old yesterday and it only has 7100 miles. In one of the attached images the leak can be seen along with the fill plug just above that. The other image shows the drain plug which is on the bottom of the PTU pointing straight down. This PTU looks different than other photos I have seen of PTU's. This PTU has fins and both fill and drain plugs are torx.

This shows the drain plug in the PTU. This is a 2016 EDGE Titanium 2.0L AWD. I was pleased to find that my PTU had a drain plug, many don't have a drain plug. I was disappointed to find that my PTU was leaking with only 7100 miles and 1 year old. Mouse over the image and a note will appear showing the location of the drain plug.

    Leaking PTU

From the album: 2016 EDGE Titanium 2.0L AWD

At 7100 miles and 1 year old, my 2016 EDGE Titanium has a leak in the PTU. This EDGE has the 2.0l EcoBoost engine. This PTU looks different than others that I have seen posted. The fill plug for the PTU can be seen in this photo. Mouse over image to see notes.

  8. I have a 2016 EDGE with AWD, when did Ford start putting a drain plug in the PTU?
  9. Yes, the 'READ ME' file you posted helped. When it said "use a Windows computer" I remembered seeing the different back slashes mentioned with respect to this upgrade. Any Mac users must use a windows computer or the unzip command within the terminal app.
  10. Finally, I got the update to SYNC 2.2 installed. I unzipped the file using Apple's OSx which caused a problem by using a forward slash in the path. I switched to terminal mode and used the command line unzip command which produced and output with the slash's that Window's expects, the backslash. I felt that I had found the problem when the command line unzip command issued the following warning. warning: HN1T-14G381-SA.zip appears to use backslashes as path separators https://www.howtogeek.com/181774/why-windows-uses-backslashes-and-everything-else-uses-forward-slashes/
  11. "Should not show anything till its done. I started the car stuck in my flash drive it said it was gonna update then I drove......" So it does indicate that it is going to update at the beginning of the process? Was there a message box at the beginning that waited for an OK? I may have to find a PC to unzip the files, I used a MAC.
  12. What should I see during the update. I don't see any indication of upgrade activity until I pull the flash drive and at that point I get a message basically saying that the update will continue when the USB is inserted. I get other messages, some because I have already installed the new hub. Is there a message at the beginning of the update indicating that the process has started. I have a SanDisk 32GB Flash with the following files autoinstall.lst DONTINDX.MSA SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-AA.tar.gz SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-SB.tar.gz SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-TBB.tar.gz SyncMyRide\HN1T-14G381-SA.tar.gz SyncMyRide\HN1T-14G391-BC.tar.gz SyncMyRide\HN1T-14G423-BA.tar.gz
  13. Sorry, I just now saw your question. I haven't had any luck on the owner.ford site. I did get a copy of the 2.2 software thanks to Ray Heath Jr. I am now scanning the messages looking for instructions on installing the software.
  14. I have called twice about the download failure message. I now have two ticket numbers but no software or answers. I did get my new USB module installed. I ordered it from Walt Sweeney Ford. After installing I would get a message "USB hubs are not supported. Please remove.". I did a Master Reset which stopped that message. When I started my car earlier today, SIRIUS downloaded and installed an update. I now know that my WiFi connection is doing something. Come to think of it, SIRIUS could have been updating via satellite.
  15. A month to download via WiFi, and I was sitting in the car a few times waiting for an indication that it had downloaded. So far all I get when I try to download from owner.ford are error messages. Any insight into the problem I am having downloading. System ErrorThis service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later or contact us.
  16. WHEN I TRY TO DOWNLOAD SYNC 2.2 ON THE OWNER.FORD.COM SITE I get a message "System Error This service is temporarily unavailable. Please try later or contact us." I have had the same problem using 3 different browsers and 2 Apple computers. A SYNC agent escalated the problem several days ago. "The case number is CAS-12213792. Someone will reach out to you once this is corrected." Do the Ford dealers charge to upgrade SYNC? Is each SYNC version unique to the VIN? Any ideas on how I can get the v2.2 file?
