Mine was fixed by replacing F2GZ-9D289-ATube Assembly - Fuel Vapor Separator https://www.facebook.com/100007531833185/videos/213905687830886/ -
Intermittent howling noise from back of 2015 Edge

my 2017 edge with the 2.0L engine would intermittently do this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/jmschneid/52772338189 The hesitation and rough running is because of the vacuum leak created by the vapor/fuel separator valve being stuck open. when it is making the noise, stop, leave engine running and check your fuel door. -
Your engine is leaking water into cylinder 3. This is a common problem with the 2.0 Ecoboost engine. The dealer will replace the entire engine. You will be provided with a loaner car because this will take quite a long time. Here is the TSB for this problem. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10169807-0001.pdf

2019 Ford Edge AWD: Transmission and Heated Seats
JSchneid replied to JAYQD's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
I don't have any info that would help but I wanted to remind you that the transmission in the 2019 EDGE is the new 8-speed transmission. Someones experience with older transmissions may not be applicable to yours. -
Use Top Tier gas. https://www.toptiergas.com/

Great that it is covered. You must have an extended warranty because a 2009 would have expired long ago.

I have a 2016 Titanium 2.0L AWD. It only has 8000 miles and it has had a PTU seal leak. I believe this is common and in my case the dealer installed a newer style seal under warranty. My PTU has a drain plug, I believe all PTU's in 2016 and newer EDGE's have the drain plug which makes fluid changes much easer. Images of leaking seal and newer style replacement seal

I would encourage anyone with a Gen 2 EDGE (2015 - present) to look at the PTU seal for the right front wheel drive. Some of the original seals were defective or fail prematurly. This condition may only be on units with the 2.0L engine. My 2016 failed early, sometime before 7000 miles. The photos show the unit leaking, after repair and the parts used.

2016 Ford Edge Sport AWD Powertrain Limitations
JSchneid replied to snmjim's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
I very much doubt that I would have any info to help you with your question. Unless, seeing the differences in my PTU, air scoop & fins cast into housing provided any new helpful info. I found my PTU completely different than any I have seen photos of previously. I was curious as to what you had in your 2016 Sport looked anything like mine. -
2016 Ford Edge Sport AWD Powertrain Limitations

On your 2016 Sport AWD, what does your PTU look like? Does it have a drain plug, fins cast in housing and scoop in shield beneath engine directing air on PTU? These photos are of my 2016 Titanium 2.0L PTU which is much different than photos of other PTU's I have seen. -
I usually buy Shell, a Top Tier gas, at a quick mart close to home. Because of this article, I stopped at a Valero and saw this sticker for the first time.

How are you transfering the Royal Purple to your PTU, pump used etc?

My 2.0L Titanium does not have the tow package and it has the PTU cooling scoop.

2.0 ecoboost..how is working in the new Edge?
JSchneid replied to garrett62's topic in 2.0L EcoBoost
I have noticed the lag off of idle, I didn't know it was intentional and I don't like it. I don't understand how a lag in throttle response would be considered better driveability. It feels like a stumble, I much prefer immediate response at all times. Do the other engine options have these same charactoristics, lag off idle and slow to downshift? -
2.0 ecoboost..how is working in the new Edge?
JSchneid replied to garrett62's topic in 2.0L EcoBoost
I thought the lag was from the transmission being slow to downshift. I notice the tach immediately shows the RPMs jump but the speed doesn't increase until the transmission downshifts a second later. -
PTU cooling..... The shield below the engine has a scoop to direct ambient air over the PTU for cooling. I don't know if this is something new or is it part of all Gen2 EDGE.

My PTU looks very different than all other photos I have seen. The fins and overall shape appear different. More robust, I don't know about that, 7000 miles and it is leaking a coal black fluid. I have an appointment with the dealer Monday. My daughter has a 2016 AWD EDGE with basic trim. I plan on looking at hers soon to see if it has a drain and if it is leaking.
