No recalibration that i know off. Any ideas how much to have the dealer recalibrate? Im in Miami so for the most part is all level ground and I do come to a complete stop before shifting. Sometimes when going from drive to reverse i even put it on nutral first to unload the trans then shift to park. Do you think is related to the TSS/OSS? My original plan when I purchased the Edge new back in 08 was to keep it for at least 10 years. It has been reliable so far only now is starting to bug me a little. Thank you all.

Hi all, have two questions for you guys. I have an 08 with 105k miles on it. For some time now the Edge makes a loud bang 80% of the time I put it on reverse. I know about the sensors that are typically at fault for transmission related issues but I don't know if it apply to my particular problem. I don't have any codes but every now and then I do get the no power under acceleration that can only be solved by restarting the car. Any ideas? Second question. With 100k miles is time to do some maintenance and spend some money on it. (spark plugs, accessory belts, EGR replacement, front brakes and most likely the TSS and OSS sensors) Already replaced the fan assembly, rear brakes, windshield washers, roof antenna. In your honest opinion at 100k miles is the Edge worth investing on it or am i better off trading in for something else? Thank you all.

I know this is old but i feel is important. I am not 100% sure but I think if you disconnect the passenger side seat you will have to recalibrate the airbags computer. That seat has a sensor that detects when a person is under a certain weight. If you disconnect the seat SRS comp will need to be recalibrated till then the SRS light will be on.

Something like that has happened to me at least 3 times in less than two years but my car was park on my leveled road. I too have an 08. I ask the dealer about it and they of course never heard of it. I decided not to leave it because they will have my car for a week and do nothing. Next week I will be on vacation the entire week and the Edge will not be used for 7 straight days. So before I start it a week from now I am planning on videotaping the tail pipe to see if it does it. If it does I will have prove to show the dealer. If not then I have no clue of what going on. My car is and 08 with 23k miles and oil is change by the dealer every 3k miles. I know is a waste but this CUV needs to last me at least 100k and I tow a boat with it.

Is 2700lbs including the trailer? If it is you are good. If is not then take the boat to a truck stop they usally have scales. You pay $10 and they will let you know. If you are under 3500 you are good. Here is mine. I think i am under 3k. It tows well.

08 Edge 15k miles After the truck been setting for over 24 hours I turn it on and a plum of smoke pour out of exhaust. Bluish smoke so I know it must be a leaking valve. Any one else had this problem? My truck has been service every 3k mile so no abuse on my part. The dealer I got it from has a bad service department so I called a Lincoln dealer here by my job and they said that yes they can service it. I am going to try them but is not sure they can provide me with a loaner. The service person said he was going to talk to the manager see if they can do something about that. I hope that we can work something out.

Yes I do have the towing package. Actually, I spent some time looking for a SE with the towing package as it looks like dealers only have them on the upper level SEL's. Weight should be just under 3k with all the gear and full tank of gas (40 gallons) on the boat. The only thing I notice when I am towing is that the transmission will not shift to 6th gear. I guess is to safe guard the trans from overheating due to excessive downshifting. No hills just a few bridges over water.

I just got my wife an Edge. I got it for $28,500 out the door. X plan.. the cars sticker price was 27,900 The price includes the following. SE with convenience and Tow package Gap insurance 3 years worth of oil changes Loaner if the car needs to be at the shop for more than a day. All tax titles and dealer fees are included. I also got 0% APR for 6 years. what do you guys think?
