If you work for Ford and know somthing, I wish you would just say it and not hint at it.

I just got off the phone with Scott @ LMS and he told me the stock thermostat is set around 190* to 195*. He told me that the EvenFlo 160* thermostat will allow the engine to produce more consistent HP and help prevent Knock or Pre Detonation. He went on to explain that when things get hot the computer retards the ignition and that robs you of power. And that on a hot day the stock thermostat would let temperature rise to 200* up to 220* while the EvenFlo would hold the temp to around 170* to 180*. , and that lets the computer run more advance making more power. So in that way the EvenFlo 160 makes more power over a wider temp range. I was worried about cold weather and my heater working and Scott said that in Southern California where I live there should be no problem with the coldest days in the low 40s to mid thirties. In Michigan where he lives it gets below zero for weeks at a time so he replaces the EvenFlo that he uses in summer with the stock thermostat so he can keep warm in the winter.

You are welcome. Want to see the photos, hear about your experience and what you think about the ride when done.

I am positive that a good summer tire would give better numbers. What's going to hold you in your seat @ .9G+ ? I have trouble now with the lack of lateral support with just the spring / lower mod.
-
Any suspension shop can do it . The front struts are easy it is the rear that can be tough . Be sure to tell whomever you use to drop the rear subframe to install the rear springs. That is very important it is an easy job when you do that. If they don't drop the subframe it is a nightmare . Have the car aligned after you drop it . Some people wait a few hundred miles for the springs to set before they align. I had mine aligned at the same time the springs were installed to protect the tires. I have a few hundred miles on them now and I am having the alignment redone at Galpin Auto Sports when they install my 160* thermostat. I paid $400 for install and got them to toss in the alignment for that price.

I don't know what the stock thermostat is in the G2 Edge Sport 2.7. I just know that 160* is less than stock and LMS recommends it. So I thought I would go for it.
-
I would love to do that with just the springs then with the bracing kit & springs. A lot of times it is the tires that determine the G number as I am sure that a stock Edge Sport with racing slicks would post a much higher number.
-
That is the way I understand it. I have been in contact with Galpin Auto Sports about all my mods and that is exactly what they say. If the failure is not related to the mod then the Warranty is fine. I love my springs they are not extreme, just enough. The stance is right on, the ride is not harsh and it handles like a Go Kart. Whats not to like ??

Just received a EvenFlo 160* Thermostat for my AWD G2 Edge Sport 2.7L EcoBoost with a LMS 91 Performance Tune. It is LMS recommended for my Tuned 2.7L EcoBoost. This is what they have to say about it: "Livernois Motorsports & Engineering now offers a line of EvenFlo low temperature thermostats for EcoBoost performance engines. Using our line of EvenFlo 160° low temperature thermostats, you can dramatically reduce the operating temperatures in your performance engine. This will allow for the engine to naturally make more power, ensure consistent performance, and increase coolant flow to help extend engine component longevity." As I live where it is very hot in the summer, often over 100+*, and I do use the car . I decide to invest in one and see what it will do .This part is for 2016-2017 Ford Edge Sport 2.7 Liter Turbocharged SKU LPP2359-160.

Yes with the H&R Sport Springs, Part # 28759-2 installed.
-
Still waiting on the bracing, no news yet on delivery date . I will post an update and un-boxing when it arrives.
-
You bet, it is amazing for a crossover, I have yet to find the limits as I have not had it on a track .. yet! . The car has stopped pushing into corners ..understeer has been reduced.
-
The car handles so good now that the seats don't give enough lateral support ! ! LOL

Just bought this on Amazon for $113 less than what Ebay sells it for. Thanks for the heads up on this product. We will see how it fits. https://www.amazon.com/FULL-KITS-STRUT-BRACE-2015-2016/dp/B01NBIAXU5/ref=sr_1_fkmr2_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1496363017&vehicle=2016-54-5858-------------0&sr=1-4-fkmr2&ymm=2016%3Aford%3Aedge&keywords=2016+Ford+Edge++Strut+Tower++Brace

Like I said ..checked on line and there are several shocks available for the G2 Edge. You just listed 3 of them. I also found Summit Racing struts and Gabriel. That is a total of 5 possibilities and that is more than a few. I did not say I found the best high end ultimate aftermarket shocks and struts for the Edge at several sites. I wish there were more performance parts available for our cars. Does Koni or Bilstein have struts and shocks for the Edge? .. No...

Lincoln Drive Control lets you choose Normal, Sport, or Comfort mode on all-wheel-drive LINCOLN MKXs. Adaptive shock absorbers help the LINCOLN MKX ride with impressive composure, even in Sport mode on harsh pavement. Perhaps Some Lincoln MKX parts will work for you. I checked on line and there are several shocks available for the G2 Edge, finding the correct ones for the ride you want will be a challenge.

So the kit is one option, another way is firmer shocks . New Shock Absorbers might do what you want. You can get adjustable shocks and tune the ride to your taste. To stiff and you will have a buckboard ride.

This is a performance kit designed to stiffen the body /chassis of the car and make it handle better. The car will still look stock and ride at the stock height but will handle better. The front strut tower bar, also known as a strut brace or strut tower brace, is a pretty common upgrade on many cars and many cars come with one from the factory. ... Strut bars are designed to tie the tops of your struts together, to reduce chassis flex which improves handling, acceleration and braking. The rear lower bar looks like a type of sway bar for the rear end. When it comes to sway bars (also known as anti-roll bars, stabilizer bars), the common misconception is that their sole purpose is to keep the body of the vehicle from rolling to one side during a tight turn. While that is true, sway bars do more for your car’s handling than you might think. When a vehicle has excessive body roll, the majority of its weight is shifted to the outer tires during a turn, causing less weight to sit on the inner tires. Lateral grip is something you don’t want to sacrifice. A sway bar’s purpose is to keep suspension movements relative throughout turns. This means that when the vehicle makes a right turn, the left side of the vehicle’s suspension will compress similarly to the right side, keeping more weight on the inner tires. The Lower Right and Left Arms look to stiffen the body at a week point and the Front Lower Ladder Bar stiffens up the front of the car. It looks like a good complete kit. It should make your car handle better without changing the springs, or ride height. This might be a good idea as a next step for me as my car has the Panoramic roof and cutting a big hole in the roof can definitely affect stiffness. I wonder if Ford braces the Panoramic roof cars like they do some convertibles ?

Congrats that looks Awesome!!! Love the color of your car. How did the install go for you?

Forgot to tell you all that the transmission was in Sport mode and I did not paddle shift it, I let the car shift itself.

I have Rotora's High-Performance Street Challenge Brake System. BBK Big Brake Kits are made by Stoptech an budget brand that has no brakes to fit your Edge. I guess you could use also use BBK to describe aftermarket Brakes in general . My front brakes are 380mm around 15 inch drilled disc with 6 piston calipers and the rears are 350mm drilled disc about 14 inch with 4 piston calipers . I love them, the drilled rotors work great, but they do make a little noise compared to stock. Rotora also offers a slotted disc. My brakes offer more braking power, better control and less fade, they have yet to fade on me, and are way better looking than stock. Contact Loren at Rotora about Edge Sport Brake Kits they -Are Not the same kit as the Fusion -, though a lot of the parts are interchangeable. Tell Loren Extra sent you from this forum and you will receive a discount ! I receive nothing, I just hooked up forum members for a discount . Rotora keeps the stock Electric Parking Brake and Anti Lock Brake function in tact.

I am a bit embarrassed about the video as I was a bit sloppy cutting the line a couple times . Going over the line is definitely a no no. If you have to cut the lane to make the corner you are going to fast and it puts you and others in danger. Taking the line and using the apex is for the track not the street! Keep it in your lane ….

Hello Ray, I have the optional OEM 21 inch rims with OEM Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season 265-40 R 21 ..105V M&S tires. Around town the ride great It is equal to or just a tiny bit softer than stock for the first inch or two of travel then it progressively gets firmer then outright stiff. I feel as though there is less travel in the suspension . Overall the ride is firmer though. On speed humps I can barely tell the difference unless I go to fast. On speed bumps I can definitely tell that the the suspension is way firmer no mater the speed. In fact on speed bumps it feels outright hard. Because the H&R springs are progressive the ride depends on how much they are compressed. The stock springs are linear and have the same ride throughout their range. Hope this helps.

Just a note on the Video... No LMS or PedalMax used, stock OEM tune. Only H&R Springs and Rotora Brakes.
