  1. Not sure if I just got lucky and got a good one or what. That is messed up that yours was damaged and not stamped or etched.
  2. Did you ever install the MRT system? How do you like it?
  3. Look to "LMS" Livernois Motor Sports for quality tunes for your Edge. Several people here use LMS tunes and are very happy with LMS service and the results of a LMS tune..
  4. Makes more power, noticeable seat of the pants. Tires fight for grip coming out of corners and on up shifts. But the tune needs tweaking now that air can flow better in and out. I believe it needs a bigger shot of fuel when you step on it. Now I have to see how it runs in stock tune. It made more of a change than I thought it would, and not all for the better. I will get it sorted out.
  5. That chime was loud as ******* and scared the ******* out of me. LOL. So it was not the car, that is good to hear. No worries. MRT is louder than stock inside the cabin for sure. I would make sure the pipes go far into the exhaust bezels to get the sound out of the car, and that the pipes are centered in the bezel. I think mine are set a little to far back into the bezels, wish they came out another inch or two. The tone is noticeably lower and fuller they sound good without being to loud. The tone is not Ricey but more European in nature. It is a leap of faith to do it without hearing it first. I wrestled with that for a long time. I told the installer that I wanted to keep the muffler and that I might reinstall it if I don’t like the MRT system . I even got a price to reinstall it before I had the work start. I brought a packing blanket with me to take the stock muffler home with me . I wasn’t even sure it would fit, but it went in with room to spare.
  6. I have a valentine radar detector mounted the same way, but on the passengers visor.
  7. What LMS tune did you use to get mid to low 13's? When I am running a tune I use the 91 Performance.
  8. This video is going down the snake with the MRT Axel Back System and STB installed. I had a warning chime go off. Does anyone know what it was? It is at the end of the video. Notice how I do not struggle or fight with the wheel as I do in the first video, that is the STB working. And check out the difference between the stock exhaust note in the first video and the MRT system in this video. I am running with the windows closed and the air on in both. The important part to me is at the very end when the chime go's off. What is that? This run down was 1:11 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slF6kQ-UYR8&feature=youtu.be
  9. This is true of most mods for sure . Even the bolts on my new axle back system.
  10. Thanks, The mat is glued down and cannot move it is similar to header wrap very tough stuff. The parts I removed were approximately .375 wide x 2inch long x .125 thick a very small amount. The new intakes could take in water or bugs, but I did not cut that much away or alter the grill intake side. All the cuts were inside . As I live in a dry climate I am not that concerned, I took all that into consideration before I did the job. Hope I am correct and there are no problems only benefits . *********** Update 12-04-2020 Continue to test and there have been no problems with water or bugs. The mat is still in place and looks good.
  11. No, I will have to remove the brace to remove the engine cover. The brace has accommodations for this. The blue mounts stay in place on the strut towers and the polished cross bar can be removed and replaced with just two easy bolts.
  12. By adding the Strut Tower Brace, I was 4 seconds quicker to the big rock at the top than this H&R test video. Same starting and stop places went from a 1:13 with H&R to a 1:09 with H&R and the Tower brace installed. I checked out a few videos at utube and 1:09 is what a Z06 Vett ran. Blue sign @ :04 to the big rock at the top. And I stayed on my side of road this time !
  13. With the hood up or down you can't see the mod.
  14. Ok , After I finished all the cutting I could place my entire hand in the grill fresh air intake. The last thing I did was put in 20 bucks of high quality insolation over the radiator to help keep the fresh air charge cool. And here you can see the 4 large fresh air intakes, and the insulation in place ready to button up. Set the cover back in place and push in the buttons and you are done. Bam! A fresh air hack for the G2 Edge Sport. Job Done
  15. I did a fresh air intake hack to my G2 Edge Sport today for around 20 bucks. I take no responsibility for anyone who tries this at home. First thing is open the hood and remove the front cover panel. It is held in place with a set of "buttons" To remove a button you pull up and remove the center. Needle nose pliers and something to help you lift the center of the button like your fingernail. Then the base or outside of the button will come out . It is easy to do and easier to reinstall. Here are the Buttons . Here is the grill stock fresh air intake I can barely get my fingers through. You can also see the snorkel air intake as well. This where you cut. Cut out the silver and leave the bolt flange and where the grill clips in. Here are the finished cuts , they still need sanding. Here are the bits I cut out.
  16. Well that sucks.. two more weeks. Mine took forever as well to arrive .
  17. Yes, thanks Nick you were the one who turned me on to this. Guess I was the test mule . He Haw He Haw . The Tower brace Is the part to get, forget the rest of the "Kit" unless you are going to put it on a track like Willow Springs. Nick said. "there's one other option that nobody has tried yet. maybe you can be the test mule." http://www.ebay.com/...t-/122084222697
  18. I asked my wife if I should change the mufflers and she said "no don't do it, why would you want the car to be louder." So I did the job without her knowing about it. We have been on several drives and errands together since the install and she has not noticed anything>>>> This way I had a impartial judge of if they are too loud. They are louder than stock but not so much as to be attracting attention when I jump on it, and have a great low, fuller tone to them. I believe they are worth the money, if all you want is a loud system this is not for you. I can now shift the engine with the paddle shifter by ear. I think she will find out when she sees the stock muffler in the garage, at that time I will confess.
  19. OK, just got back from a couple runs up and down the Snake. Wow! I can say without a doubt that the Strut Tower Brace makes a positive difference in the cars handling . There is less effort when turning at speed and better control overall. It gives me more confidence and a more precision line around corners. It works hand in hand with the H&R springs. I would recommend a Strut Tower Brace to anyone looking for better cornering and control at speed. If you already have the H&R springs then this is the way to go, for $140 get one , Though I paid for someone to install it as part of a bigger kit, it is a do it yourself project for most. Get one here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/15-16-Ford-2nd-Edge-Lincoln-MKX-Limit-Sport-Front-Upper-Tower-Strut-Bar-Braces/131694393663 If you do not push the car it makes no difference , but if you do you will be happy you added this performance part.
  20. I had the Cilajet applied at Galpin Auto Sports, it is not sold to the public as a do it yourself application . It can only be applied by an authorized Cilajet dealer. I had the interior, exterior and the rims protected with Cilajet. GAS gave me a loner car overnight while the job was being done. With the Cilajet came a warranty that covers the paint and interior of the car and a free application in 5 years. The life is said to be between 5 and 7 years on an automobile. I use a California Car Duster in the morning before work and a spray detailer to remove any bug splatter or bird droppings. I also use the spray detailer to clean the rims, the brake dust does not stick and harsh chemicals are not needed to keep them like new, nothing sticks to the paint or rims. With Cilajet, dusting and spray detailer have kept the car so clean that I have only washed the car 4 times in 6 months. You cannot take the car to a machine wash with spinning brushes , hand wash only. It is amazing stuff. The only drawback is the price, big bucks at hundreds of dollars over $600 but under $1,000 depending on who does the job. With the investment of tens of thousands of dollars in a new car I felt that it was worth it as I have to keep it under a shade cover and not in a garage . So far I feel that it works as advertised and I am happy with the product.
  21. Give us a review please, I am interested in what you think about it.
  22. I had the exhaust installed yesterday along with the strut tower brace. I did not install the entire bracing kit as the rest of the parts in that kit required holes drilled and a set of custom bolts machined for the rear suspension along with another alignment. The thermostat is on hold for a while until I can talk to LMS and Reische Performance about the fans and running with and without a tune. It appears that the fans need to be in sync with the radiator temps. I need more info on that. So far I have installed H&R Sport Springs, Strut Tower Brace, MRT Axle Back Exhaust, Rotora Street Challenge Brakes, LMS Tune, PedalMax, Custom Wrap and CilaJet
  23. I think that may be a Drag Radial, not sure how it would turn a corner.
