The point of these posts is not to show what I can do, but what the Edge Sport is capable of with H&R springs and a STB installed. Times would be faster with a good set of Summer tires. Combine that with a 12 second 1/4 mile and you have a sleeper that can embarrass / surprise more than a few. Love my Ford Edge.

Thanks so much. We used a stop watch this time it was 1:07.3 so I am gunna go for a 1:06 and I think that will be about the max. I am running a Livernois 91 Performance tune.

Just got back from a Sunday drive I ran a 1:07 !! One second faster than the Ferrari 458 above. Oh Yeah! :happy feet:

Thank you, and I agree that Z06 driver was not the best. This time a video of a 458 Ferrari with no bikes in the way, crushing a clean run. What is cool about this video is you get to see the entire Snake from bottom to the top view point. Same starting and stoping points. Srart time run at 2:51 End time run at 3:59 Total run 68 seconds 1:08 Only one second faster than the Edge Sport !

Not to say that a G2 Edge Sport Crossover, is a Corvette, but surprise surprise, it does keep up with these super cars in these tight canyons with almost no straights and the Edge can carry more people and goods.. LOL. I looked for in-car videos that showed the same start and stop points and this is what I was able to find . There are probably more videos out there, but this is what I found. Was on the way to a 1:08 and spotted a Sheriff at the top, so had to slow down a bit, but we will never know for sure about that 1:08. Because the Snake is so tight, that is the great equalizer. On a real racetrack with 150mph+ straights and 90 mph corners it would be a different story. But on the streets on a mountain road, the Edge Sport can hang in there with the best.

When I said "piped in" it was slang for electronically added. Not an actual pipe like a plumbing pipe.

Thanks jmr061, If I understand what you are saying the system works like the Bose noise cancelling headphones . Thats good news for I enjoy a quiet ride and did not want some synthetic engine audio added.

Dozens of runs before the brace and no matter how hard I tried I could not go faster. Installed the brace and the first run it dropped 4 seconds, that is to say 4 seconds faster than my best run ever. Fact! . BTW I just sold my shop last year, it still has my name on the door. We made everything from Nuke Submarine parts to custom heads for Keith Black. Helped build an electric land speed streamliner there as well . Worked with Ak Miller on projects, and built rocket launchers for the Government It was an Engineering firm, welding and machine shop. I do not lie because the truth of it is, the STB cut my times by a full 4 seconds no matter what you say. Fact is all you have is an opinion and you are wrong on this point.

I agree different days can produce different times but.... I hope you are not calling me a liar. I made dozens of runs up that hill before and after. Not a one time thing . If it did not help I would say so. The time improvement was not 4 min it was 4 seconds and I have duplicated that time over and over. I have a Edge Sport with the panoramic roof and I can't say if it would help one with a solid roof. Do you have one on your car? Have you driven a Edge Sport with and without one? Or any car with and without one? Are you just a bench racer with an opinion, or do you have facts and experience with a STB on a Edge Sport as I do? I can back my words up with experience and timed runs . Can you?

I have timed hillclimbs before and after the STB install. The car was faster with the STB , and there are no pivot points as you state.

I had another look and found some errors on my part . I will break my math down for you. Using the stock base numbers of 315 hp and 350tq at the crank and at the wheels 253TQ and 226HP. Parasitic loss is 97tq and 89hp. Here is my corrected math and how I came to the numbers. 315 x 28.27% = 89.05 so HP parasitic loss is 28.27% HP 350 x 27.72% = 97.02 so Parasitic loss is 27.72 %TQ 299whp tuned - 226whp stock = 73 whp gain 365wtq tuned - 253wtq stock = 112 wtq gain 73whp x 28.27% = 20.63 20.63 + 73 = 93.63hp gain at the crank = 315+ 93.63 = 408.63 crank HP 112wtq x 27.72% = 31.04 31.04 + 112 = 143.04tq gain at the crank 350 + 143.04 = 493.04 crank TQ The final numbers I came up with are 408.63 HP and 493.04 TQ at the crank. Man thats a lot of TQ!!! With a weight of 4400 pounds and HP of 408.63 using this site http://www.wallaceracing.com/et-hp-mph.php Your ET / MPH computed from your vehicle weight of 4400 pounds and HP of 408 is 12.87 seconds and MPH of 105.02 MPH. Push the weight to 4550 and HP at the crank jumps to aprox 415 to get the 12.9 You stated - Qtr mile: 105.3 mph/12.9 sec, so my numbers are in line with that. Please let me know if I screwd up.

Stock at the wheels TQ was 243 and HP was 208. After the tune and on E30 you made 317tq and 295hp at the wheels. On E30 fuel and a tune you gained 74TQ and 87HP at the wheels. WOW!! :happy feet: At the crank you are making.. hold on, OMG... 426.27HP and 444.35TQ. Awesome massive numbers, Congratulations.

I just checked them out and they look like a good summer tire at a great price. I am interested in finding out how they perform for you.

So far so good I have 8500 on them and it looks like I have another 8500 to go. I have not had a chance to get to the canyons of late as I have been super busy. The Scorpions may last a bit longer than the P Zero, but the P Zero sticks like glue when my Scorps are squealing for mercy.

This is the corner. The line along the front leaves aproxamently 5 inches of silver paint. We measured it with a cloth measure tape.

I have seen a couple different hood designs on G2 Edge's, and have been requested by 15FireSport to explain mine in detail. The hood of my car is a Gloss Black Wrap, not paint. I can remove the wrap later and the paint will be like new underneath. Most hoods are done in a Satin Black, the idea being to reduce sun glare off the hood. I did mine in a gloss to match the glass roof. That being said you do need to care of a wrap and several products are out there. You can use a product made for wraps or I use a spray detailer and a microfiber towel to protect mine and keep it looking great for years. This is where it starts at the top. Right and left sides. I left the images full size to see better.
