  1. This is awesome news, I am so stoked . They look great and thanks for the photos . Bolt on High Performance Turbos for the G2 Edge Sport are now a reality. One small step for G2 Edge Sports, one giant leap in HP !!! :happy feet: . Congrats .
  2. I am getting them made for me by Comp Turbo, CTI call 909-594-8400 and ask for Ernie. He is sending my turbo shell out to his supplier for custom blankets to be made while he machines the interior parts. He gave me no hard price but said they will be around $125 each. You should call him tomorrow to get in on this because the blanket maker will only have my turbos available for fitment for a short time. Use my name, Ernie will understand whats up.
  3. I just ordered up a set of Turbo blankets .
  4. Up date : Received turbos Tuesday. Turbos shipped out on Wednesday. Arrived at CTI Turbo on Thursday. Turbos striped down and work started on Friday morning. I received a call from CTI this morning saying I had shipped them the wrong turbos and they would not fit. It was cleared up for somehow they thought they were for a F150. Once I explained they were for a 2016 Edge Sport all was good and thats when they started the work. Not stripping the turbos down and removing the hose and pipes was not a problem. CTI did this for me at no extra charge and will just return the parts in a bag along with the rebuilt turbos. :happy feet: . Hope the finished turbos are as fast as they work at CTI
  5. Does this mean that the pipe can be used with the stock intercooler as well ? As for the size, this is good, for if the pipe was oversized it would slow the air flow though it. Though a oversize pipe may flow more air, throttle response would suffer. It is important to maintain speed of air flow for good response. It sounds perfect I can't wait.
  6. LMS is doing it for free!!!! :happy feet:
  7. snmjim, How did you know that I shipped them as I received them with all the lines and hardware??? You must be psychic .. What is the diameter of the IC outlet pipe approximately ?
  8. I was able to ship the turbos out to CTI http://www.ctiturbo.com today they will be there tomorrow and the work will begin on Friday. I expect a short turnaround of under 2 weeks. The main mod will be to the compressor turbine, it will be billet and larger than stock. The turbo case will be machined so the larger turbine will fit. Anticipated HP gain at the crank of 40 to 50 Hp with the stock tune. I was able to find a AWD Dyno shop http://www.ktmotoring.com they specialize in rice but will work with me. KT will data log the car and work with LMS to tune the car. This will allow me to run the car with a stock or custom tune. I wonder how much the car is going to make once finished. I was thinking of taking my car in before the work to establish a base. Completely stock then with the LMS V3 tune. This will tell me just how much I really gain. This endeavor is going to cost a bit. Dyno time is 150 for the first hr, 125 after that. The turbos were 275 each and the mods are 650 each so it adds up fast . And that does not include installation. A LMS V3 tune for 600 is a great deal and killer bang for the buck.
  9. My car never did that until I put in the LMS V3 Tune.
  10. My car spins the rear tires if I punch it from a 20 or 40mph cruse up to 60 mph you can here them squealing . I had the PTU serviced at 8K. It works great. Will have it done again at 16 or 20K. Did the trans around 10K.
  11. Turbos arrived and I got photos of them, but have not seen them yet . Some understand that statement. It looks like one is missing a clamp.
  12. Very nice I did notice that they weren't cut out in the photo, and it bugged me. That little extra touch of cutting the top and bottom half honeycombs will make all the differance in the final product in my eyes. Fantastic! Perfection .
  13. My turbos have to be compatible with the stock tune. Because I live in California my car has to pass very strict smog laws. This is why I had to pass on your turbos they would never pass smog here. My turbos will be very mild in comparison more like blueprinted with very light modification. I will keep all your info handy and I do intend to install your intercooler and cold pipe once available I will also take your advice and not install the turbos until after the intercooler. Thanks
  14. Thank you this is a real time saver as well as great info. My Turbos should be arriving soon then off to be tweaked. I will be able to get the replacement parts together so when the modified turbos return I will be ready to go. It should save me a few trips to the parts store.
  15. I like the new lower grill #3 but how is the fit and what is the quality of the plastic? If you go for it you need to give everyone a review. I know the quality and fit of the OEM CNC grill.
  16. snmjim, Here is a 65mm Throttle Body you might be interested in to help move more air. And good for a few more ponies. https://www.stage3motorsports.com/1894-2015-2017-F150-2-7L-EcoBoost-BBK-65mm-Power-Plus-Throttle-Body.html
  17. I agree the block is not the weakest link. The 2.7 weighs about 440 pounds dry, according to Waszczenko--10 pounds less than the 3.5-liter EcoBoost, with more compact dimensions.
  18. The block is very strong and I see no problems with 21 PSI and the block . Here is some info on it: The engine block is cast from compacted graphite iron (CGI). Ford says the 2.7 EcoBoost is the first gasoline-fueled serial production engine with a CGI block. Until now we’ve encountered CGI only in diesel or race engines. Compared to conventional cast iron, CGI provides substantially better tensile strength, 45 percent greater stiffness and twice the fatigue strength. It has more dimensional stability and better NVH damping qualities than aluminum, and while it’s heavier than aluminum, it’s much denser. CGI allows thinner castings and more compact dimensions, and it requires no bore liners.
  19. Love the way the Edge smoked that Hellcat off the line. On the street stoplight to stoplight the Edge Sport has embarrassed many and is a sleeper that stays under the radar.
  20. The turbos will work with a stock tune, they are not full race units. These are for an everyday driver and should pass smog tests. They will be better than stock but less than snmjim's and Special_K's. I will contact LMS to see if they are compatible with a LMS V3 tune. Otherwise I will find a tuner here, after all I live in So Cal it can't be that difficult. 12 seconds is plenty for me snmjim is looking at 11 seconds and world records.
  21. I just scored a set of 2.7L Edge turbos for $275 each with only 6K miles on them :happy feet: . There was shipping and $25 bucks each core charge on top though . I am going to keep my stock turbos just in case. CTI Turbo stage one mods will keep the throttle response and drivability while giving overall more power and more top end. CTI can do this with only a two week turnaround. http://www.ctiturbo.com Increased HP / torque output Increased rotor acceleration Faster transient response Higher compressor efficiency 3x thrust load capacity over factory journal bearing CHRA (Ball Bearing option) Higher mechanical efficiency They will replace the cast internal parts with custom billet ones. The turbo housing will be machined to accept the larger parts and they will be completely rebuilt, balanced and tested with new bearings. I asked if my car would pass smog and was told that it should pass with a stock tune no problem. These turbos will make more power than stock and are everyday driver parts. I do not believe they are as radical as snmjim and Special_K's turbos, I think theirs will make much more power . Thanks to Special_K and snmjim for the inspiration to do this. . I will be needing that inter-cooler more than ever now.
  22. And that was slow motion, just how fast is that car of yours WoW lol
  23. As I understand you have a 2016 Sport correct? And if you look at the dash on the left there is a little car that shows the power move from the front to the rear wheels. Take a look at that symbol and see if the power is moving around when you drive. It should move power to the rear when you accelerate and move to the front when cruising . Heck my car now has the rear tires squealing to 50mph through the gears and if I launch to hard I get a little rear wheel hop. . If only your fronts are working something is wrong or you don't have a AWD Sport. Take it to the dealer and have the PTU looked at . You can also have the PTU fluid changed for a couple hundred bucks. The dealer will tell you the fluid is good for some ridiculous number of miles but if it has never been changed and you have over 20,000 miles I would do it anyway.
