  1. The car is in for warranty service and might be back by Wednesday. It has been gone for a few weeks now and I miss that car and I have yet to drive it. I will be posting info and videos when I get the car back. I can only hope that all this work was worth it and perhaps it will smoke all 4 tires I don't know. I do know that snmjims car is going to be faster than mine.
  2. Only one to go.... who will it be ? This is an opportunity that may not come around again. Think about it. This is a custom run of sway bars just for us. Chances are you won't be able to go to the ADDCO catalog later and order one and if you could it would certainly be at a higher price. Who is going to step up ? Who will be 1 of 11 Edge owners on planet Earth with this custom part on their car. Snmjim has his and he is doing this for the community, he gets nothing from it. So this is a very special custom part at a great price. As Bill Goldberg would say Who's Next? We only have to May 28 only 4 days left!
  3. After looking at both the RX and JLT cans I decided to cancel my RX order and go for the JLT can. The points that won me over was the ease of installation and how it used stock snap on fittings. The other thing was the super clean OEM look of the finished installed can and hose. Also I can remove the entire unit quickly and return the car to stock for any service or smog requirements . Last, after I found this video I was sold. I love the price but value was not the deciding factor, the JLT can is simply the best for my needs.
  4. 5 people have signed up we need 5 more to start production.
  5. The weather will be a factor as the dyno is set just inside a door that is open. On the day I did the baseline tests we where in a heat wave and the temp was 92*F on 4-10. I am sure that the hot weather had something to do with the low numbers. It has not been that hot since. The new UP IC should be able to handle those temperatures with ease.
  6. If you have a problem with Dyno Dynamic advertising contact them and they will be happy to explain why they think they are the most accurate . This is a turbo thread and discussion about who has the best dyno belongs in a new Dyno thread. As long as I continue to test on the same dyno I will be able to compare the base numbers I established with the stock turbos to my new custom Comp turbo's output. Apples to apples.
  7. The source is the manufacture on all points, Dyno Dynamics.
  8. The Heart Breaker Dyno is a Dyno Dynamics dyno. This is what they say about it. Why Dyno Dynamics? Most accurate true wheel horsepower rating. The most flexible dyno option with the ability to tune RWD, FWD and AWD vehicles. Tune race ready vehicles with the high power capability of the quad retarder option. Diagnose engine and transmission faults in 4WD, RWD & FWD vehicles. Steady State capabilities- Hold at an exact RPM without wandering, cutting down tuning time. Industrial spec computer with a solid state hard drive- Long lasting and no noise interference.
  9. It will be on the dyno a few weeks from now then I will have the numbers. The car needs some service for a bad half shaft and drive shaft seal that are throwing grease first. The dyno I use is called the Heart Breaker because it gives lower numbers than DynoJet or the Mustang Dyno. A long as I stay with the same dyno it will be apples to apples and the tune will be fine.
  10. The car was tested today and it checked out fine with the stock tune . I will get to pick it up by Monday I hope, then a dyno tune.
  11. Friday May18, 2018 the car will have it's first tests. I am following in the footsteps of snmjim and Special_K. I know that the car will run best and safer with a tune and I will check the air/fuel mix and boost with the stock tune to begin with. It is my hope that Comp Turbos experience with the F150 2.7 Ecoboost will transfer over to the Edge 2.7 Ecoboost. Comp Turbos has done hundreds of these turbos for the F150 and they run them with the stock tune no problem. I have added a big Intercooler and a cold side pipe to the mix so I will need to be carful to not as snmjim says zoom zoom Boom! But if everything checks out running the stock tune would be ideal to maintain the warranty and for when I bring it in for service. Then have the LMS My Calibrator with a few tunes on it for fun. Perhaps I am dreaming with running the stock tune . Lots of things to discover now that the parts are in place and lots of dyno time as well.
  12. I was told by the turbo builder that it is compatible with the stock tune and they have done many F150 2.7 EcoBoost Turbos with no problem. But this is the first Edge 2.7 turbo. I will still be careful until I get it checked out .
  13. The job is done and the car is at the alignment shop. I will be getting it back soon . :happy feet: Now I have to figure out the tune
  14. The rear turbo has been installed and the way to access it it is to remove the passenger side half shaft. Now that the hard work is done on to the IC the Cold side pipe and the RMM.
  15. Yes, I have a base line established on a AWD heart breaker Dyno.
  16. Here are a couple photos showing the difference between the stock 6 blade cast compressor wheel and the Comp Turbo 11 blade billet compressor wheel . Notice how the stock input has been hogged out for the larger Comp turbo wheel to fit.
  17. The front Comp turbo was installed without any problems . The rear Comp turbo is a different story, access is limited and it has not been installed yet. To gain access to both turbos the entire exhaust system was removed including the down pipes. To access the rear turbo the drive shaft was removed and several scenarios have been made. First is to remove the front passenger side half shaft and one other part to gain access. The second idea is to drop the PTU a few inches to gain space. And third and most drastic is drop the front sub frame . As of this post this is where we stand. I will post just what method was used to install the rear turbo upon completion. Any way you look at it, changing the turbos is not for the average shade tree mechanic. Without a lift the job would be twice as hard . Once the rear Comp Turbo is installed the UP IC will be installed along with a new RamFab cold pipe and the CNC grill will finish the job.
  18. Turbos : CTI, This is where I went for mine. They can build a turbo that works with the stock tune. http://www.ctiturbo.com a division of Comp Turbos http://comp-turbo.mybigcommerce.com/Comp Turbos Turbo Blankets @ Comp Turbos again this is where I got mine : They are not on the web site call and ask for Ernie , http://comp-turbo.mybigcommerce.com/turbine-blankets/ JMS PedalMax, Improve throttle response : http://www.jmschip.com/ford-vehicles/ Dash Kits : Wood or Carbon: https://www.carid.com/2016-ford-edge-dash-kits/ Rotora Brakes 4, 6and 8 piston: These brakes retain the electric Parking brake. : http://www.rotora.com/street-challenge/
  19. I thought that Leonardo Da Vinci was the one who wrote drawkcab!
  20. JScaro, Yes the MRT system was modified you can see the added pipe after the muffler in the photo above. This was added to move it into the correct position for the tips to stick out. I have a 6 inch buffer and I touched up the tips to make them like chrome. I used Mothers polish to do it . In stock form they are fine I just have the tools so why not? Also they are weld on so you will need to cut a slit or have a pipe expander to slip them on before welding. $78.88 for both RT and LF sides. The FlowMasters I took off cost that much each! I found the tips here: https://www.ebay.com/i/301901438568?chn=ps Description : http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=301901438568&category=33633&pm=1&ds=0&t=1523241730000&ver=0
  21. I collected parts and after all the parts came in, thats when the work began.
  22. I have not installed my RX can yet but here are a few differences. + 1. The RX can is a 4 chamber design to help catch fumes and turn them into liquid. I am not sure but I think the other one is a single chamber. + 2. The RX is a very large can and holds more so you don't have to service it as often. + 3. The RX has a ball valve and a drain hose. The other you have to disassemble to empty. + 4. The RX has a CSS Clean Side Separator the other does not. - 5. The RX costs more. - 6. The RX does fit nice but because the RX can is larger there are less places to mount it than the other in the tight Edge Sport engine compartment. That's all I can think of for now but I think there are more. I will be sure to post my results after the install is complete. And that will not be soon, I have other mods to deal with for now.
  23. Great info Special_K . I know that it takes time and effort to produce feedback like this and more time to post it for the community . Your effort is mucho appreciated . Now Mikula where is the info on that Chinese CX Racing IC you like. And I am not talking about MSRP........ crickets. LOL * Mikula, Just joking around no hard feelings .
  24. It is being installed now. Hope to have car done by next week sometime.
  25. I pinched my cheeks so hard when I experienced understeer on Mulholland headed for a guardrail that I could have cracked walnuts! Let an doubters in my passenger seat and they will whistle a different tune. Be sure to bring a change of pants. Those darn knee dragging Super Bikes are tough to keep up with . And thats why I want better sway bars .
