Spinning is not winning. I need more track time to drive / launch the car better. -

Take off was smooth but I got wheel hop on the 1-2 shift you can hear it on the video in the car. It was my first time on a drag strip in 20 years so I was rusty with the launch and the lights. The car even broke the tires on the 3-4 shift just before the finish line and you can here that on the M4 phone video. I had good top end mph for hot 4000+DA day. I have a 60duro RMM, 21 inch Pilot Sport 4S summer tires.and H&R spoings. -

I am just learning about DA and how it effects the car. Unfortunately I don't know the DA the one day I tested. All I know is the elevation of the track is 1,158.1 FT and it was 100*F and the car fought for traction.. I found that the track has a site with the DA by the hour. Looking at 93*F today and a 3,938 DA at the track. At 100*F it would be have been more than 4,000, -1100 DA thats nuts. My 60 ft was 1.942 that day. I have decided that there is no reason to race the car when it is over 90*F so it may be awhile before I run again. -

That is fast ! The track must have been sticky to get that and you hooked up good. If you use the correction chart above your 12.7 would be even faster . Do you know the DA when you ran that record? I would be interested in seeing what you would have run at sea level. -

I found this chart that will correct your time and MPH to sea level. That is if you know the DA or just the track altitude when you made your run. It is interesting to see how fast that run would have been if at sea level on a perfect day. This was the only chart I could find for turbo engines. It is not perfect for the EcoBoost but it is close enough for fun. Again, this is just for fun and the numbers are close but not exact. To convert your timeslip ET and MPH to sea level. Multiply applicable factor times your ET or MPH. (Example: You ran a 14.4 @ 103 MPH at 5000 DA track. The correction factors are .9367 and 1.0661 for 5000'. (14.4 * .9367) = 13.50 , (103 * 1.0661) = 109.80 MPH. So the correct time slip would be 13.50 @ 109.80 MPH at sea level) For Modified Supercharged and Turbocharged Engines Altitude (in feet) Elapsed Time Factor MPH Factor 1200 .9967 1.0034 1300 .9961 1.0039 1400 .9955 1.0045 1500 .9950 1.0050 1600 .9944 1.0055 1700 .9938 1.0061 1800 .9932 1.0066 1900 .9927 1.0072 2000 .9921 1.0077 2100 .9915 1.0082 2200 .9909 1.0088 2300 .9904 1.0093 2400 .9898 1.0098 2500 .9892 1.0104 2600 .9886 1.0109 2700 .9881 1.0115 2800 .9875 1.0120 2900 .9869 1.0125 3000 .9863 1.0131 3100 .9858 1.0136 3200 .9852 1.0142 3300 .9846 1.0147 3400 .9840 1.0152 3500 .9835 1.0158 3600 .9829 1.0163 3700 .9823 1.0168 3800 .9817 1.0174 3900 .9812 1.0179 4000 .9806 1.0185 4100 .9800 1.0190 4200 .9794 1.0195 4300 .9789 1.0201 4400 .9783 1.0206 4500 .9777 1.0212 4600 .9771 1.0217 4700 .9766 1.0222 4800 .9760 1.0228 4900 .9754 1.0233 5000 .9748 1.0238 5100 .9743 1.0244 5200 .9737 1.0249 5300 .9731 1.0255 5400 .9725 1.0260 5500 .9720 1.0265 5600 .9714 1.0271 5700 .9708 1.0276 5800 .9702 1.0281 5900 .9697 1.0287 6000 .9691 1.0292 -

What was you 60ft best? 1.9 something I think. -
I believe the stock injectors will be fine with gas and would possibly only need upgrading with E85. It depends on how far you want to take it. Take it to far and then you need a stronger rotating assembly. I am looking for a HPFP that will work with the stock rods , injectors and PTU. I spoke to LMS within the last few weeks and they told me they are not working on one for the 2.7 unless I had them make a custom one for my car and that would cost way too much. Meth injection my opinion is best for race cars, not everyday drivers.
-
I think the LPFP is fine in the Edge Sport and it is the HPFP that needs addressing.

It was a hot day around 100* and traction was a problem. The heat made for thin air and the track was hot and greasy. You can here my tires fighting for grip in 4th gear in the M4 clip. I will not give my times but I was able to outrun a Shelby GT350 a M4 BMW and a Camaro SS . Lets just say I was in the 12's. -
It has come to my attention that a high performance HPFP is needed for the 2.7 EB . These are available for almost every other displacement EB out there and somehow the 2.7 has been overlooked. The HPFP is the key to unlocking the full potential of this engine. If the engine has no fuel it does not matter what mods you do . The stock HPFP can only supply so much fuel and that ultimately determines how much power one can make. The HI Pressure Fuel Pump ( HPFP ) is driven off of the back cam lobe and I am not sure if we have 3 or 4 lobe cam on the 2.7 EB . A proper performance HPFP could deliver enough fuel to run E85 if wanted or needed. I have found HPFP that deliver 35% more and others at 60% more fuel than stock but they don't fit the 2.7EB. Anyway here are some drawings describing the HPFP and how it works.

Great Photos ! Adding the heat wrap after the cat is a good idea . . Swapping turbos is not for the average Joe, it is best left to the pros unless your name is Special_K or snmjim.
-
Congratulations snjim and Special_K . 400+ WHP and 33MPG are awesome hard earned numbers ! . I am very interested in a high performance HPFP. . It will protect the engine and unleash the true potential of the 2.7 EB.

I cut the sidewall on my driveway curb today. A momentary loss of concentration cost me $384 for a new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 265/40R21 tire. I have been using that same driveway for over 15 years and never missed it as bad as I did today. I was moving super slow and that saved the rim. Lucky for me the other tires have only a couple thousand on them so the new one should match well enough. This time I got a two year road hazard warranty with free overnight shipping from TireRack . Side note * I am planing to hit the track next Wednesday the 29th to see what she will do baring any other mishaps. -
2016 Edge Sport (G2) Front & Rear Sway Bars
Xtra replied to snmjim's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
My bar had silicone grease applied at install, on the bar, the bushings and the side of the bushings where the locks are . You were correct ,I asked and you can see it in the photo as well. They even put grease in the zirk fittings of the links. Now I am not sure where the noise is coming from. -
Congratulations

I picked up a annoying squeak after the bar was installed. I think it might help to have some type of light lubracation under the bushings to prevent this noise until things break in. Anyone else have this problem? -

Special_K is the only person that has tested the bar at both settings and only he can make a proper comparison of the two. -

I do not recommend installing the ADDCO bar without lateral locks. The stock OEM sway bar has lateral locks pressed onto the bar. Without the locks the sway bar could possibly shift and cause interference problems. Adding Lateral Locks is a good idea with this bar and car. -

**** I just remembered that I had the dash cam on while the car was serviced and I have reviewed the Memory Card. Total time including a test drive was 63 min. The Ford book says 1 and a half hr for the job around $200. So you should pay anywhere from $125 to $200. -

It should cost $200 or less for the job. GAS charged me $200 @ $125 per hr. I think it took them less than one hr though.
